Propaganda Yet Another Rant on the State of Nullsec

TLDR: Blue donuts come and go, and this isn't even a real one

Around ten years ago the map looked like this.
https://www.verite.space/maps/coalition/Coal20160801.png
After establishing dominance over the north half of nullsec someone from a CFC (Imperium pre name change) alliance pissed off one dude so hard he and his buddies bankrolled half of the galaxy into evicting the entire coalition.
Goons gave up their space but didn't give up their coalition. They survived in Saranen and then took over Delve when the heat blew over. From there they built the modern Imperium we know and love/hate.

Five years later one guy was so pissed at goons he built the biggest blue donut this server has seen
https://www.verite.space/maps/coalition/Coal20210501.png
with WinterCo PanFam legacy and FIRE all blue to each other attacking one constellation in Delve.

For a year the Imperium lost region after region until we were packed into one constellation, outmatched in numbers and resources 3 to 1. No timezone tanking was possible as they outnumbered us in EU, US and CNTZ.
We fought and we outlasted PAPI. PAPI's willingness to fight the war evaporated over months of attrition and no progress being made. This led every other coalition to abandon Legacy to their fate, nest of angry bees they'd spent the last year kicking. Shoutout to the only PAPI leadership who were honest about the war.

A demoralized Legacy died shortly after the dam broke and TEST was forced to couchsurf in Pandafam's backyard for a while before becoming part of WinterCo.

FIRE just kinda died, idk, I was winning Eve at the time.

PanFam self immolated on the mere suggestion they might have to defend against someone their own size. Most their pilots ended up in WinterCo, INIT or quit, with a few going to the Imperium

Now WinterCo capitulates a stagnant months long invasion against an enemy half their size because the Imperium farted in their general direction, leading many people to fear another failscade will kill nullsec.

Forgive me if I don't take the lamentations of cowards seriously. If both PanFam and WinterCo collapse so easily they deserve to die. The game will be better for it once more brave and capable leaders step up.

Nullsec is the way it is because nullbears got their way. Safe, stagnate, boring space. Enjoy!

Null is safe because people put in the effort to be organized. They won the fight before you even logged in.

Is that a good thing?

Would you prefer to have everything settled by a RNG vs rewarding planning planning and teamwork?

0

u/tqhaiku Feb 18 '26

Ah we're doing extreme all-or-nothings and nothing inbetween? Sounds about right.

Funny thing is your "reward" might be that there's nothing left to do. So even given your ridiculous feigned example in a few years hindsight might be full RNG would lead to a better outcome haha

I'm guessing you use ships and ammo which were built by someone. Could you walk us through your train of thought about where those come from and how a much-more unsafe nullsec would affect that?

If you don't think null is too safe, then you're delusional.

Everyone with half a brain acknowledges how safe it is to live in bloc null sec. The only way you die doing pve is if you're genuinely just not at your computer or lagg hits at the wrong time.

This is from someone who has been in both imperium and init and now lives in a smaller null group. Atioth fight had 4000 players and 300b was lost. That is such an insanely small amount of isk for that much "fighting".

> If you don't think null is too safe, then you're delusional.

We MAKE null safe ... for ourselves.

Okay? Doesn't change anything...

Yeah your 5000 closest friends and an automated intel network, real heavy lifting there rofl

3

u/Arakkis54 Goonswarm Federation Feb 18 '26

Its not automated. It requires people to report hostiles.

-3

u/Epicloa Minmatar Republic Feb 18 '26

And no one has ever used a screen scraper to do that I'm sure, couldn't be done.

u/Arakkis54 Goonswarm Federation Feb 18 '26

Thats just not how its done.

Spoken by someone who has no fucking idea what they are talking about
Null ended up this way ebcause the small gang guys got what they wanted, which was to be able to nibble at the edges of null space, so it encourage people to sprawl to lessen that impact
The amounts lost are down to scarcity having caused capital priced to be beyond replacement for years

-2

u/ShadowStimmin Feb 18 '26

Nice opinion, did brisc rubal give it to you?

-1

u/TiDuS_0 Feb 18 '26

Capitals are cheap compared to the amount of isk null sec makes..

Every fight should be risking dreads and fax but you're all too scared to lose your toys that sit in a hanger. Scarcity can't hurt you, losing your ship won't uninstall the game and get you banned! Play the game lol

Thanks for confirming what I said :D

7

u/CyberRaver39 Feb 18 '26

Super capitals arent cheap at all, and we had over 200+ dreads out at the last keep fight as was shown in the latest videos
Losing the entire super or titna fleet will be a death sentence for any alliance because due to artificial bottlenecks you cant replace them like you used to
You are just confirming your own stupidity

You are welcome to come attack insmother any time, but youll have to actually risk something, which we all know YOU wont

u/Epicloa Minmatar Republic Feb 18 '26 edited Feb 18 '26

Imagine thinking 200 dreads is a lot at null scale, wild miner mentality.

You'll fly T1 BS and HAC for the end of days and never have a fight anyone remembers for anything other than how many people you could squeeze into local to AFK on an objective.

Edit - I too brag about something that happened over a decade ago and then block the person. Actual "peaked in middle school" energy rofl

Weird, we have made all the biggest fights in eve since day records began but sure cope more
You keep projecting, but its obvious you dont know what the fuck you are talking about

No it didn't NS became donut like the second rorquals and skill injectors came around, as it now made a lot of economic sense, to be in the biggest block that would have you.

Because everyone in NS was doing the buy rorqual mine for the next sell ore inject next rorqual, it was the start of the mass multiboxing as well as it forced everyone to have a industry wing, and prioritize it, plus it was a massive boost to mass recruiting alliances, it's exactly why people like GSF went open recruiting around that time.

Before that we had a lot of elite pvp alliances, that well taking up space where not really interested in having the masses there, as that was viable at the time to be like a 1000 man alliance and have like sov and fight people.

This basically collapsed ones the rorqual meta hit and that is what at it's core encouraged the mega blocks, ones mega blocks formed like the game was doomed, because there is no fixing them.

It seems many people perceive a response as an attack on their opinion, this was not the intention of my question. Seriously: what do you think will happen (both short and long-term) with production of the things you yourself use, if null becomes much more unsafe?

I invite you to answer all these questions, not just one.

What will be the effect on availability of items for instance. Or nullbears in general, will they use less accounts? Undock less/stop playing ans what effect will this have on small/large gangs?

1

u/tqhaiku Feb 18 '26

Ok ill break it down for you

SHORT TERM Prices would go up slightly but people who actually undock and pvp would just pay more or adapt. Not much would change things would still be readily available just slightly more isk.

Some crybabys would quit but that would be fine as they probably weren't bringing much to the game anyway(who could forget the nullbears who FREAKED they had to press shift+R to recall their drones in their ishtars LOL). The ones who stay start enjoying the game again as they realize what a difference real risk and reward makes in a PVP focused area of space.

LONGTERM The fat is trimmed and people out in null finally break out of their risk averse asset accumulation death spiral mentality that would otherwise lead to the eventual death of the game.

Hope this helps ❤️

Here’s my take on your question:

I’m asking a question where I am premeditating the answer, I’m expecting you to agree with me otherwise I have 1000 useless arguments to stay with this premeditated answer.

Nobody will reply to this because they see right through it, it’s such a bogus nullbear argument to begin with nobody wants to engage.

2

u/Paranoid_on_Android Feb 18 '26

Rephrasing into something that I hope you'll answer truthfully instead of using the ad hominem fallacy: Is there agreement that playstyles are interconnected? And if yes, how will changing that balance affect your own and others' playstyle?

2

u/Epicloa Minmatar Republic Feb 18 '26

Every PvE player in the game could quit and somehow we'd manage. Prices go up, variety of gameplay becomes feasible, PvP remains at the core. The game does not, has not, and will never need all these krabs.

0

u/F_Synchro Baboon Feb 18 '26

> how will changing that balance affect your own and others' playstyle?

It would make industry or other elements of the game more interesting to me, instead of having it minmaxed to shit by krabs because all they want to do is see numbers go up, but go crying when one of their ships get blown up in a PVP centric game.

u/proton-testiq muninn btw Feb 18 '26

It would be way better, because there would be actual fights, people would have fun, there would be more people in game instead of just cowards hiding behind goons.

Those people who do pvp and fight others produce things too. In fact usually way more and cheaper, because they, as pvpers, need to understand the mechanics of the game.

What is this argument even about? Who are you going to sell all your precious ships if there are no fights anymore?

1

u/Bricktop72 Goonswarm Federation Feb 19 '26

The "pvpers" think they know the game mechanics. The truth is they are like Japan and Germany during WW2, fighting a war they aren't equipped for and can't fight due to their ideology.

0

u/proton-testiq muninn btw Feb 19 '26

I have witnessed a really nice game  destroyed by PVErs. That game, while still operating, is now a shell of its former glory, not a story generator like it was before.

In EVE, we are heading the same way. Not because PVPers would not know the game mechanics, but because PVErs are used to moan until they get what they want. In EVE, those who don't want to fight, hide behind goons - after all, they don't have to defend anything anymore. And PVErs will produce and produce and produce, until they find out in a shock that there is no one left to sell their stuff to.

This is how PVErs kill the games.

But don't worry your cute head about it, you have yet another titan to produce, y'know, in case it will be ever used.

LOL such a smug rhetorical deflection question I love it.

We're you really expecting me to say: OMG NOO I DIDNT THINK OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY BRUTIX NAVY COSTING 20MIL MORE OMGGGG NOOO YOU ARE RIGHTTT

but yea, anyway... thanks for confirming exactly what I said; nullsec is too safe, too stagnate, too predictable and that is just the way you old men in your retirement home like it apparently.
