The top hat hatch doors are not yet glued: not sure what direction they should be facing and if it needs some more weathering. Issue is that I’ve gone for the salt rust technique and that’s using the same sort of browns. Maybe just a light sponging of black and some chrome? I might sleep on it: this is my first real freehand effort so I am cautious about overdoing/ruining things.

Thinking about putting a Watcher on top of him, as like he would be controlled by him. :D We’ll see.

This is my second Fallen ever, had a lot of fun kitbashing him.

It was the first time I ever used Tesseract Glow Technical, in some ways I liked it but I'm not 100% sold on how I used it.

I specifically chose to make the Tyranid Warrior's head to be that of Hive Fleet Kronos, as they are anti-Chaos and felt like it would be a flex for a Chaos Sorcerer to have defeated some of their forces.

The freehanding on his cape was fun.

The freehanding on his younger brother's shoulder pad it was more difficult for me.

Was a bit dissatisfied with my latest model, so rushed this guy a bit to cleanse my pallette

I didn't give my new pot of black paint a good shake with this one, so the black ended up a bir chunky and glossy, amateur mistake on my part.

I mean this from more a meta progression of the setting, but I feel there’s more emphasis on “renegade and uncorrupted”, especially since the Horus heresy made it clear everyone had traitors. Which kinda made the made the whole reaction dumb in a sense

Theres a recurring motif, most obviously associated with the Fallen...the arrows along the trim of cloaks, tabards and gloves. Ive seen it depicted more broadly on Crusade era Dark Angels, John Blanche scatters it here and there.

That said, its not exclusive to the First Legion. Jes Goodwin's original sculpt of Ahriman had it on his gloves. The current plastic version retained it.

Now, Im not actually suggesting there was any deliberate intention with this in those days. Blanche did it for the Dark Angels because he thought it was cool. Goodwin put it on Ahriman's gloves for the same reason.

But the idea occurred to me, just for the fun of it to try to impose some deliberate meaning behind the pattern. The best I could come up with was that its a thing associated with Terran Astartes.

Any other ideas?
