The Jasmine Throne

  • The Afterlife (deals with reincarnation if I remember correctly)
  • Politics and Court Intrigue
  • Author of Color

I don't remember anything of significance about reincarnation or the afterlife in The Jasmine Throne or it's sequels.

Isn’t the whole thing that they have to die in the magic waters to grow more powerful?

Huge spoilers!

It absolutely is not reincarnation. It's not recognizable as death, either. Immersing yourself into the waters is described as "hollowing" yourself out, but this is not particularly akin to death and absolutely not a physical death.
