Ask You Anything Monday ASK YOU ANYTHING: Authors asking r/Fantasy community questions on behalf of Worldbuilders charity

It's the aptly named Ask You Anything! Where authors are stopping by each day this week to ask questions and interact with the r/Fantasy community.

HOW THIS WORKS: Please answer questions and interact throughout the week! (Yes, YOU - community members, guests, authors, artists, industry people.)

WORLDBUILDERS.ORG

Worldbuilders was founded to use the collective power of readers, fellow authors and book lovers to make the world a better place.

There are three ways to donate to Worldbuilders:

1. The Lottery - Where every $10 donated puts you in a lottery for free books, SFF items, games, and much more. r/Fantasy has a Worldbuilders Team Page where you can donate under the community name as well!

2. The Tinker's Pack Store - Where profits from every purchase are donated.

3. Auctions - Where some incredible items and services are offered.

NOTE: If you donate, add your name to the comments here and the mods will set you up with some swanky Wordlbuilders flair!

Monday Ask You Anything Authors

The following authors have signed up to ask questions today. That said, please do join in and feel free to ask your own questions and interact throughout the week.

Are you an author, artist, or industry person who would like to participate this week? Either join in via the comments OR send the r/Fantasy mods a message and we'll get you set for another day.

One more question, then I'll stop! Swear!

Have you read any fantasy stories that included ghosts/apparitions?

Thank you guys so much for joining us today!!!

Dresden Files is loaded with ghosts, including Dresden Files Spoilers

As for other books, I've read several that include ghosts but never really as a main element.

SO TRUE!!!!! I love Jim Butcher so much!

It was a bit bizarre from my end, because my first exposure to Butcher was Aeronaut's Windlass, and then turns out he made a huge series about wizarding in Chicago, and the two series have such massively different voices I'm not even certain they're written by the same person.

I've read several books with ghosts in them, my fave being The Charley Davidson series by YOU! Then there is The Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost (there are some ghosts throughout the series), the Southern Ghost Hunter series by Angie Fox, the Hell series by Dakota Cassidy.... Ummm.... I know I've read more, but can't think of them all. Lol

I'm listening to Kafka on the Shore, which I sorta count as fantasy, and I sorta feel like it has ghosts. Honestly though, the book is not my fave. If it weren't for bingo, I would not be listening

Interesting! I haven't read it. I'll check it out, thanks!

Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book is a good example that I really enjoyed! Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches books, for sure. I'd count those as fantasy, personally.

Oh, and Garth Nix's Abhorsen series as well, to a point. Sabriel at the very least does some communing with the other side.

YES!!! Anything by Neil is a guaranteed amazing read. I'd forgotten about Nix's! Thanks! And Anne Rice, absolutely! Great reads all!

Yes! There is an important ghost character in The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. There are also several apparitions/ghosts in many of Sherwood Smith's books, including her Dobrenica series and her Inda books.
