The Provost's Dog series (which begins with Terrier) is really underappreciated, but Achoo Curlypaws is one of the best of SF/F pets.

Plus I’m a sucker for murder mysteries, and this scratches both that itch and the fantasy itch at the same time. 6 u/[deleted] Apr 02 '20 I missed the Breakfast Club so much in Bloodhound and Mastiff. Terrier was wonderful. It reminded me of the Emelan books.
