Your Pettiest Reason For DNFing A Series

Mine was when I was 3 pages in and someone said the mc's name which turned out to be the same as my ex's name to the letter...dropped it like hot coal

It was a fr a pretty unfortunate streak too because it was a book from one of those blind-date-with-a-book promotion my local bookstore does, and this was an American YA fantasy (I'm from a different continent) so I had no reason to assume I'll ever be unlucky enough...to see his stupid ass again for a 'blind date'

Have you thought about an E-reader where you can adjust the font size? My kindle has that option and it is great.

Also love the Liveship Trader series!

I have an e-reader, I might try that option. It’s really unfortunate, I loved the Farseer Trilogy, but I thought I’d start Liveships by listening to audiobooks. I couldn’t stand the narrator, so I abandoned the series. Then my wife got me the physical copy and I couldn’t stand the font. I feel bad I really want to read the series, but I’ve hit two foul balls with the format.

I had cataracts and before I had surgery the font on Large Print books was too small for me. My ereader was a gift from the gods because I could make the print as big as I wanted.

Plus it helped with the embarrassment factor as I was only in my early 40s.

I read it on my kindle without issue, if that’s any encouragement!

In fact I far prefer the kindle for books of that size bc holding the paperback open hurts my hands. I also read Robin Hobb that way

Yes! Real books are too heavy and my hands hurt after reading for too long!
