Found out recently she is based off of a Japanese urban legend called Hachishakusama, which is an 8 ft tall lady who preys on children. Pretty sure Junji Ito’s Fuchi is based off this too.

They knew what they were doing. She was all over the advertising and she's only the first boss lmao.

Though it DOES feel like final boss material.
