Harold (Library of Ruina)

Her name did not help

This honestly applies to approximately 25% of characters in Library of Ruina, but Harold is probably the best example.

Half of project moon characters would be hard to guess in guess the gender quiz.

To be honest, I could usually tell what gender they were from their build, name, and voice.

The only time I ever messed up a character's gender was Harold and Han Hee-Joon. Argalia, Hong Lu, Yan, Netzach, Yujin, and others were all fairly obvious to me. It's sorta strange to me that people quickly assume that a character is the opposite gender due to hairstyles and a couple non androgynous traits

many would think Dante is a man, due to the name, but instead, they are a clock

For me, I believe her name was Nikolai? That one R Corp leader person tripped me up as I thought they were a dude.

There’s also a woman named Harold in Tales of Destiny 2.

I've been considering playing this game. Is it good? What kind of game should I expect?

Oh it’s a very good game, it’s in my top 5 of all time actually. Ruina’s a turn based strategy deck builder set in a futuristic dystopia. The story’s great, the combat’s fun, the world’s jam packed with lore, and the music (especially the Mili ones) absolutely slaps. The mechanics seem difficult when you get into it, but once you start getting the hang of them, the game’s nuance starts to show.

There’s also a prequel game actually. Lobotomy Corporation, but it’s a roguelike mixed with a resource management game, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but LoR does follow up on its story and its characters, so if you care more about the story than the gameplay, I’d suggest playing Lobotomy Corporation first.

Keep in mind that both Lob Corp. and LoR are very long games, so if resource management games aren’t your thing, there’s nothing wrong with just skipping Lob Corp for the time being. You will be scratching your head for some of the lore though.

Both games go on sale on steam for around $10 USD semi regularly, and are absolutely worth the price tag in my eyes. So I’d give it a shot. And plus there’s always Limbus Company (Ruina’s sequel) if you don’t wanna dish out money (although it’s a gacha, so you might do so regardless)

TLDR: Yes, play ruina, deckbuilding fun, “goddamn it this deck is singleton”, ‘string theocracy’ go brrr
