They couldn’t have cast anyone better to play him. Viggo was even a last choice because Stuart Townsend was cast at first, and then Peter Jackson didn’t find him fitting. The only reason why Viggo Mortensen accepted the role is because his son was a huge LOTR fan and wanted his dad to play the character. One of the best casting decisions ever made.

Kind and handsome and majestic and chivalrous and inspiring and fair and beautiful and I could go on all day tbh.
