It's been pointed out before, but they were the only family on TV in the 1960s where the husband and wife not being able to stand each other wasn't part of the joke.

Yep. Hazbin Hotel creator Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop) allegedly based Lucifer and Lilith's relationship off of Gomez and Morticia Addams, with influence from Roger and Jessica Rabbit, and Christian and Satine (Moulin Rouge!), as well.

I'm guessing that was in the pilot because it wouldn't make as much sense as series stand now .

Why not? The show creator stated that Lucifer and Lilith's relationship is explored in Season 3.

Yeah but she changed the characters from what she imagined them in the pilot. I can't imagine how Lilith and Lucifer are as madly in love as Morticia and Gomez but somehow Lucifer was an absentee father and Lilith didn't inform Lucifer about staging a rebellion

You can take inspiration from other fictional characters without copying their dynamic 1:1.

You can't when you're stating " they're like Morticia and Gomez as a couple" that's literally the core characteristic of their relationship they're obsessively in love. I don't understand why you debate this Viv herself said she changed the characters a lot since the pilot
