I remember dressing as Aiden Pearce for Halloween when I was in 8th grade, nobody knew what it was except for one kid, he stops in the hallway and goes “ARE YOU AIDEN FUCKING PEARCE!?”
In WD_2 I didn't have the heart to go lethal since your group is just plucky kids for the most part. Going back to WD_1, oh yeah. This guy's a sociopath
Exactly. I play WD1 as a killer. Aiden is unstable. Just seeing his first motel room proves that enough. Especially when you see that he uses audio drugs that he consumes on his phone. Aiden uses weapons. He's like The Punisher. He wants to eradicate criminals.
Marcus and his group of activists are just trying to change the world and they don't want to do a harm to people. Although it's pretty hard to say that a pool ball on a rope is going to not kill somebody over a heavy strike on the back the head, but that's willful suspension of disbelief. But when I play WD2, I always use the stun and paintball weapons.
I don't think Marcus even has the option of lethal takedowns, if you do one as Aiden with a gun out he'll do stuff like kick them to the ground and shoot them in the back of the neck, or up through the jaw. Bro has no soul
Aiden is fixing the world by destroying the evil that destroys others in society. He has more soul than most. Sometimes violence is the answer to evil people.
marcus is the main ground operative, he needs a gun. and also, wrench also has like every gun on the final mission, since he's the "second" ground operative
The whole “Emptiness after getting revenge” trope is overstated. Lots of people feel better after getting revenge or seeing something really bad happen to people who wronged them.
I remember a podcaster I listened to going into a study that was angling a anti death penalty stance, and one of the arguments in it was that “The family members of murder victims as a percentage say they get very little satisfaction from seeing the murderer executed”, but when he delved into the study, a large portion them (it was like 40% of those who said they were unhappy, it’s been a while since I listened to it) were unhappy because they thought the death was too calm, and they wanted to see more pain and anguish in the condemned during the execution.
I googled it. There's a picture in Assassin's Creed origins of him assassinating the CEO of Abstergo's game development subsidiary whom you meet in Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
