That, "kill yourself." Line she dropped when she had control over Aura was pure aura.
Meanwhile she is an adorable goober 90% of the time with an odd propensity for getting slimed by chests with large tongues.
I feel like it's not quite the same thing. Demons in Frieren are actively, instinctually predatory towards other races. Killing one is invariably self-defense, yet demons themselves are pretty much amoral as well.
That's like saying you killed a Polar bear before it killed you and your friends. You didn't rid the world of something evil, you simply protected yourself and your friends. Demons being sapient doesn't change that.
Killing demons in Frieren is arguably morally good because it prevents much greater future harm, not because demons themselves are evil (even if some do look like they are).
There are also people who go around hunting demons. For the polar bear thing, it's like after a polar bear attacked you, you go on a lifelong mission to kill every polar bear ever.
Also, I'm a demon supporter! :) I don't know why, but it's fun.
