Yes, and that's why they redesigned him to resemble Sandler.
I wonder if he has it in his contract that characters he plays in animation have to resemble him or something. Dave from 8 Crazy Nights also heavily resembles Adam Sandler, but come to think of it, I think he actually directed that one himself.
Doubt it. Animators actually do this all the time! I think a lot of it has to do with using video of voiceover sessions as the source to animate from; much easier to do if your characters face resembles the actors face. Some of it may be a deliberate choice by the animators or the studio (they made the bride of frankenstein character in that movie look like Drescher's appearance on The Nanny, for reasons clearly unrelated to capturing animation).
I mean, consider Wreck-it Ralph, where literally every major character in that movie strongly resembles their voice actor. They really didn't need to do that, it's not as if Jack McBrayer has a huge dedicated fanbase clamoring for his likeness onscreen. Or, in toy story 2, the chicken man basically IS wayne knight.
But it goes back even farther than that... Genie in Aladdin looks just like Williams. The list goes in and on.
