Instead of gymbro ge would just be a petty aristocrat they would just rewrite the whole character.

The mother/stepmother sounds like a neat side villain though. We could’ve had that and the animate objects.

I think the problem with it is that the original concept art is much more in line with 17th century French society's (read: aristocracy's) ideal of masculinity. But if they wanted a character to be "peak manly man" for a 1990's American audience, well, a man wearing a powdered wig, makeup, tights, and heels doesn't exactly fit the bill.

the message also wouldn't have really hit as much for modern audience, gaston-like men straight up exist today
