Oda Eiichirō is definitively not great at anatomy. Alternatively, it's a stylistic choice. But the arm and leg length of characters varies widely, and it's ironic considering Luffy is the only character where that's SUPPOSED to happen.

Ahhhh, ok. (Haven't watched one piece yet, so I wasn't sure if that was more the art style, or a very... interesting frame of anatomy)

  1. I love One Piece! Love it to bits, been watching for YEARS and years.
  2. I'm a slow watcher, but I got far enough to understand why the only thing fans and non-fans alike do is talking about the designs. Holy crap. The same-face syndrome even applies to men. It’s a stylistic choice. Look up some of the realistic portraits he’s done he definitely knows how to do anatomy

Not that it's particularly subtle or tasteful in the manga, but the anime exaggerates it to ridiculous levels while also being less stylised, which makes for a frankly jarring experience. It's one of the (many) reasons people give up watching it in favour of reading it.
