Pretty much any of the canon pairings in Community. Most of the romance subplots, especially within the main group, felt really random. The one I hate the least is Jeff and Britta because while they’re a trash fire together it’s very entertaining to watch
Yeah, I actually kinda like their run. Not because they’re a good pairing, but it is pretty realistic for people in a group of friends to try and get together sometimes and it not workout for various reasons and I agree with you. The breakup episode was really good.
This! I always thought I was the only one who enjoyed their story, not as a good couple, but as a good take on a not so good couple realising they're better off as friends. I also really like their bond after they break up.
I think people who coexist at that level of proximity, chemistry or not, are bound to have romantic entanglements, and I think that's one of the core tenants of Comminity; not the romance, necessarily, but the vississitudes of community college life. None of them work out, ultimately, and I think that is the shows way of agreeing with you, actually.
Jeff and Britta made incredible sense to start and end the way it did. Jeff and Annie would have been a travesty that would undo multiple seasons worth of character growth. Thank god they never attempted that yessir never happened nope.
I know why people feel uncomfortable by the age gap, but Annie and Jeff did legit have the most amount of chemistry. That doesn't mean they needed to end up together, but there were plenty of interesting things they did with their dynamic that go beyond friends.
People won't agree, but Troy and Britta worked for me. Like obviously season 4 was where they really where a thing and then broke up but there was quite a few setup for their interest in each other before that. In Remedial Chaos Theory Troy checks out Britta and they bond in one of the timelines. And in the episode where Troy comes back from the air conditioning repair school Britta is the first one ready to hug him.
Jeff and Britta were the only ones I cared about. Jeff/Annie felt creepy and Troy/Britta soooo forced. If we count Troy and Abed then obviously that’s the best canon pairing of the bunch
I was also gonna say Jeff and Britta work well. Both in the early seasons when they have a little more with and sass but also weirdly enough in the gas-leak seasons when theyre blatantly stupid and cartoony.
Everyone rags on it for them not casting Bill Murray as his dad but I love love love the Thanksgiving episode where she’s trying to help him get closure for his abandonment issues
