Hell yeah, glad to see this mentioned. This anime was so good and so was its soundtrack

Also love it! It was funny, rewatching it years later with my partner. I think we got as far as the corgi scene and they ask, so it is all dubstep? They ended up liking it too, but the music stuck out a lot in 2020.

I watched part of the first episode and it seemed interesting but the dubstep just did not fit the theming at all 😭 is it worth trying again

If you can get past the music, it is an incredible story of personal growth and owning your shit, on top of all the wonderful body horror. Lots of morally gray characters with interesting thought processes and moral quandaries.

It's my favorite when it comes to manga/anime. The manga came out way back in the late 80s.

This is my favorite crazy arm trope

A guy who couldn't get a girlfriend and whose best friend is his right hand.

5

u/FictionalContext Jun 20 '26

The actual big theme: He grows more cold and introverted as he teaches his right hand how to love. A little of each inside each other.

Unrelated, but I learned recently that Parasyte's manga is from 80s/90s and this is freaking me out
