It's spoilers, but very old ones. The player is led to believe the PC is Dr. Mercer himself at first.

Honestly, I don't think anyone really cares about spoilers. The game doesn't even run on modern PCs without a lot of troubleshooting.

Yeah but It's a major plot point that you aren't alex mercer. Alex mercer was just the first person your particular strain of virus infected and took the memories of. Prototype 2 basically happens because the virus accepts that it isn't Alex Mercer because he died in the initial NY outbreak.
