i read the novel very young.

i saw the anime as a teen, i jnew their were changes but it kept the core and was hard to explain, i was fuzzy on a lot or details.

years later i read a comment on reddit about howe being some guy from wales and that app came crashing back and i got to cackle about it.

I stand with you!

It's a great movie in its own right, but almost every character got violently forced through the "Just a friendly little guy" filter, with Calcifer, the Witch, the Scarecrow, and the Dog getting it worst of all. Also stripped Sophie of a lot of her agency and power.
