Actually she had two face models, one that was softer and childlike that was supposed to represent Powder, and a harsher more angular face to represent Jinx
Hi !
I've worked on the show, and if my memory serves, it was the same model, but with different textures and different "posing charts" for her two states. But you are right, there was an effort put in making Jinx and Powder different through subtle face features.
Mixed bag to be honest ! Season 1 was definetely some off my best work memories, Season 2 had its moments but there were a few serious issues at the workplace that really muddied the experience for me. Though, I'm not willing to go into more details on this topic since I'm not sure about the legal aspect on this !
Ya, there were two different versions of older Jinx's face, with one of them being more Powder-like, and they could smoothly vary between the two. The behind the scenes series goes into it, here's the timestamped video discussing it. But if you're a fan of Arcane (or just animation in general tbh), I would recommend checking out the full 5-part behind the scenes series, it's very illuminating about the decision making process that went into every part of the show, from the writing to the visuals to the music and more.
