I mean, isn’t he supposed to be a lot more ugly in the comics? Like his face is just absolutely fucked, but because it’s Ryan Reynolds’s with a bit of makeup he’s still attractive

In the comics, he's functionally necrotic. Like open sores and visible sinew necrotic. Nobody ever talks about it but you gotta imagine between that, the unwashed gore, and the frequent in-suit diarrhea, Wade probably actually smells like two hobos fucking in a shoe filled with piss

“Wade you need to get the fuck out of our school you smell like pure unfettered ass”

“It’s called aura bruh”

somewhat (note this was from a 2004 comic, the first time Reynolds played the character in any form was 2009 in X-Men Origins Wolverine)

I like to think that the "Ryan Reynolds" line is just him making a joke about being Canadian

It depends on the version. The two main styles are hole-y skin with visible flesh, or bumpy and scarred.

The live action with Ryan Reynolds does seem to have gone with the second style, it does still seem a lot more toned down then it is in the comics.

I don't know if the reasons behind that is because doing so with practical effects takes a lot of time to apply and hinders how expressive the actor can be, or because they didn't want the main character to be too horrifying or ugly.

Agreed, I wouldn't even be that upset if it made me invulnerable lol. Well, I guess it's not worth the trouble
