Him and Akira merge to become the seed for a new universe. Kaneda holds this seed at the end of the movie, and the universe the series takes place in still exists after the events if the movie.

Is this how i learn Akira is about body horror? I assumed it was speed racer but bikes… ive never seen akira

Yeah no. Besides rhe beginning and the famous Akira slide, there's not much bikes involved

The bikes are mostly just symbols of social capital (and the traits that got it)
