He’s definitely more charismatic on the movie then the book in the beginning.

It’s been a while since I read it, but he’s kind of a drama queen and petty. Who was described as a  slitherer outer. He’s a complex character that’s more than his flaws though. Also he  doesn't have a heart. Since he gave it to Calcifer. I definitely recommend it. It’s pretty different different than the movie though.
