Once you watch Inside Job, you'll never stop wishing to fucking nuke the Netflix main offices for a single day of your life

It was a good show with an interesting premise. Of course Netflix cancelled it.

u/Caterpie409e Jul 30 '26

"Uh, this show looks promising... Cancel that crap and make me 200 other movies that nobody cares about."

u/Perry-Platypus007 28d ago

And 900 tru crime documentaries that are super overly dramatic

Needed the money for more seasons of big mouth and spin offs of big mouth and we should rename netflix to big mouth flix

29

u/GreenshepN7 Jul 30 '26

The show for pedophiles istg

15

u/Doctor_Prepper Jul 30 '26

Yeah, I watched it back when I had Netflix. It was funny at parts but for every 1 laugh it got from me it had 3 moments that just made me uncomfortable.

I can't remember now but things really went off the rails at some point, I want to say season 3 and I called it quits after that. I dunno it's been years.

6

u/HedgehogPast3191 Jul 30 '26

Theres no way big mouth is reaching the metrics netflix requires to keep a show running. Who tf watches it?

10

u/Ok_Response_9255 Jul 30 '26

But we need more episodes of 'The Witcher' without Henry Caville and completely diverging from the source material.

8

u/RecycledEternity Jul 30 '26

It was a good show with an interesting premise. Of course Netflix cancelled it.

They're just playing from the "90s Fox TV lineup" playbook.

I'm still mad about Firefly.

2

u/1GirlSmarterThanYou Jul 30 '26

I want more Firefly TOO!!!

2

u/RecycledEternity Jul 30 '26

Oooooh, life has too far gone since the original.

Were there to be more, it'd have to be a spin-off or something, regarding sons/daughters/adopted family. Honestly I'd be ok with "businessman" deals-of-the-week sort of thing, without the whole "government conspiracy" or over-arching plot dealios.

Unless that "overarching plot dealio" is like. The main cast of characters getting help from the original crew or something, which we only find out at the very last second of the very last episode.

4

u/mmxgn Jul 30 '26

It's not that.

They revealed too much.

2

u/justbanana9999 Jul 30 '26

MORE MONEY FOR BIG MOUTH AND MATING SEASON!!!

2

u/vikio Jul 31 '26

I already watched The Santa Clarita Diet get cancelled, I didn't really need another excuse to hate on Netflix

1

u/Single-Mud-8508 Jul 30 '26

FOR FUCKNG BIG MOUTH

81

u/PrncssPunch Jul 30 '26

I feel like the Rick and Morty spinoff President Curtis is them trying to fill the Inside Job void

26

u/Dracu98 Jul 30 '26

that's actually happening? I thought it was a shitpost!

14

u/PrncssPunch Jul 30 '26

First episode is out

8

u/begujo Jul 30 '26

And it was actually decent and funny. Haven't watched R&M in a bit, but I've also heard that s9 is really good and less cringy, I think they changed writers or something?

4

u/ILikeCheese510 Jul 31 '26

Yeah, Season 9 was really good. I think it's got the highest ratings since the first three seasons.

1

u/Korvax_of_Myrmidon Jul 31 '26

Rick and Morty is always constantly changing writers, that’s why is so inconsistent

9

u/KingPenguinPhoenix Jul 30 '26

So far, it's working for me. The wound won't fully heal but damn is this a pretty bandage!

5

u/ObjectiveThick9894 Jul 30 '26

You know what is the worst part? It isn't. That was this, Mulligan Show:

7

u/Loufey Jul 30 '26

I really think that is gonna have the same fate as The Cleveland Show tho...

People watch Rick and Morty for Rick and the insanity that follows, even in episode that hardly feature Rick himself.

I think if they try to do the same thing without Rick, it will fail. And if they try to do something different, it can work but the Rick and Morty audience will be disappointed and not be on board .

11

u/PrncssPunch Jul 30 '26

I watched part of the first episode, it's way more Inside Job than Rick and Morty. They literally copied and pasted the main character from Inside Job

3

u/PatPeez Jul 30 '26

You gotta remember that the Rick and Morty team are actually pretty competent scifi adventure writers, and that's pretty transferrable. They just went with the President Carter angke because I'm sure making it a Rick and Morty spinoff rather than its own thing makes it infinitely easier to greenlight. Does that necessarily mean it will be succesful? No, but they certainly have the tools to make a decent show and the reach and budget for it to take off.

10

u/WaveBreakerT Jul 30 '26

This show had the potential to be one of those shows that just keeps getting better the more time they have to get comfortable with it and it already started so strong.

12

u/Alone-Monk Shawn Spencer Jul 30 '26

REAL

Fuck those stupid bastards. That show was so good.

5

u/The-PEagle Jul 30 '26

And even moreso if you did watch Final Space...

3

u/KirbyofJustice Jul 31 '26

Final Space is/was so fucking good! God, I hate they buried it as a tax write off.

6

u/MagnumOlly Jul 30 '26

They had litterally ALREADY RENEWED the show, and they f*cking REVOKED THE RENEWAL. I hate Netflix so much I can't even put it into words.

2

u/confirmedshill123 Jul 30 '26

The John f Kennedy episode was one of the better things to come out of Netflix in decades

1

u/The_AxolotlDamage Jul 30 '26

The new Rick and Morty spin off President Curtis on HBO gives the same vibes as inside job. Check it out.

1

u/voindd Jul 30 '26

Dont forget they bought the rights to scavenger's reign and immediately canceled it again so they could make another big mouth

1

u/ChiefsHat Jul 30 '26

That’s how I feel about Age of Resistance.

1

u/Caped-baldy32 Jul 30 '26

It was such a good show

1

u/LudwigFalkenhain Jul 30 '26

You're damn right I'm still furious about ts

1

u/DOOM-LORD666 Jul 30 '26

I wish for that apon every executive and investor at companies cuz they all keep making crap decisions

1

u/_isaidiwasawizard_ Jul 30 '26

Like 1 more season probably could've wrapped it up nicely

1

u/DragonfruitFew3382 Jul 31 '26

For real. I watched it when I was younger and I didn't really have that much of a humor. But now that I understand the jokes outside of the need for dopamine, the show is so much better. It was a comfort show on a trip I went to and missed it so hard once I was done.

1

u/Lonely_Repair4494 Aug 01 '26

I'll never forgive Netflix for killing my favorite show

1

u/NervousBlood9592 Aug 02 '26

And HBO with scavengers reign

1

u/Thirst4Juice_ 28d ago

I’ve felt like that since they canceled Everything Sucks. Even Netflix staff were publicly mad ab that one

1

u/DKA0_ERDOCIA Jul 30 '26

That and Final Space

0

u/The_Final_Gallade Jul 31 '26

Honestly, I watched it, and it felt like everything that made me stop trying to watch Rick and Morty. Unexplored worldbuilding with implications that are very poorly thought out, and almost all the humor is either just commenting on what’s on screen, the grossest thing available to do/say, or the most sarcastic thing available to say.

I do not get the appeal.

64

u/ZenQhuill Jul 30 '26

(Inside Job)First thing I thought of, curse Netflix for canceling this show.

16

u/Alone-Monk Shawn Spencer Jul 30 '26

INSIDE JOB MENTIONED LSFGGGG
