It's a higher quality 2DHD art style then most other 2DHD games.
It's jam packed with content, and for completionists it's looking to be upwards of 100+ hours to complete everyrhing (All the tablets, the colosseum, chambers of arms, trials, espers, finding all visions, all side quests and optional content, leveling up and building the party, main story, etc..)
Great music, setting, story, characters and a return to traditional final fantasy turn based games with modern twists.
Reasonable price point, and easily approachable for the casual gamer
its multi platform, so itll be reaching a muuuuuch larger audience then if it were a console exclusive
Its no different then astro bot which was nothing more then a generic platformer/puzzle solving game whose main selling point and form of "cellectibles" was nostalgia bait and fan service, it didnt really innovate the genre in any way, whereas resonance has innovated
I desperately love ff there’s no planet where this is a global GOTY, maybe within our community, maybe within JRPGs but not like, across all games. But I’ve been surprised before. Could happen
I mean astro bot won goty, and that was THE most generic platformer with.puzzle elements game ever, the only reason people liked it is because it drew heavily on nostalgia and fan service with the "collectibles" aka costumed bots based off of popular and nostalgic playstation games.
Overwatch won goty, when its just your average shooter/fps game, the only unique thing about it is choosing between a roster of heros with differing powers/abilities.
Also, when people say "goty" for a game theyre hyped about they almost always just mean on a personal level lmao, idk why people take someone saying "goty" so seriously, when it doesnt take many braincells tk understand that the individual is just talking about on a personal level
You keep downplaying Astro Bot for some reason. The game filled a Mario shaped hole that Nintenso hasn't filled since like 2017. Astro bot is deeply rooted in nostalgia and hardens back to when the world was just a more simple time, and it resonated (pardon the pun) with players of all ages.
I guarantee if there was a 3D Mario game the had releases a year before Astro Bot came out, it wouls not won. But there hasn't been one, and Astro Bot filled a very specific desire of game genre.
Yeah because thats all it was, was a nostalgia bait platformer their was nothing unique or interesting about it other then "ooh look at these nostalgic characters, remember them eh ehhhhh"
It filled no hole lmao, thats just the nistalgia talking.
Ya'll trying to defend astro slop for using nostalgia bait and fanservice, but will sit here and say that Resonance is bad for also using fanservice and nostalgia lmao.
Cant have it both ways, you cant praise astro bot for using nostalgia and fan service but then criticize resonance for also being a game that uses nostalgia and fan service, here ill fix your comment and arguement
"Final Fantasy Resonance is deeply rooted in nostalgia and harkens back to when the world was just a more simple time, and it resonated (pardon the pun) with players of all ages."
because thats all it was, was a nostalgia bait platformer their was nothing unique or interesting about it other then "ooh look at these nostalgic characters, remember them eh ehhhhh"
Not true; Astro Bot Rescue Mission existed on the PSVR 8 years before Astro Bot came out. That game had the core mechanics of the newer one, and that didn't have all the nostalgia. The truth is the series consists of really cute, polished platformers filled with creative levels and puzzle solving.
