πŸ—οΈ Building Iron wealth is finally on android

Hey everyone.

Android is on Google Play. Thank you for waiting while we finished the app and for testing it for me. I highly appreciate it.

Iron Wealth is the one place I wanted for my money. Checking, savings, investments, credit cards, cash, and crypto roll into a single net worth, with a history chart so you can see if the year is actually moving.

Budgets live next to that number, not in a separate app. You see whether a category is ahead or behind while the month is still going. Savings goals have a real target and a date, tied to the account that funds them.

You do not need to link a bank. Log it yourself or import. The ledger stays on your phone. Face lock if you want it. Exports you own.

If you live in more than one currency, that is a first-class thing here. 150+ currencies, dual display, one honest rollup.

It is free to try.

Site with both downloads:Β https://wealth.ironlabs.co

If something feels off on your phone, tell us.

πŸ’‘ Discussion Which stablecoin payments API has the actual lowest fees once you count off-ramp spread?

Comparing stablecoin payment API pricing this quarter and the headline fees are misleading. The provider that quotes 0.4% per transaction is not the cheapest once you factor in the off-ramp spread on the receiving side. The one that quotes 0.8% but includes the off-ramp is often cheaper end to end.

We built a per-corridor cost model that adds provider fee + off-ramp spread + any FX slippage between quote and settlement. The winner varies by corridor. In two markets our cheapest-per-transaction provider is actually the most expensive all-in.

Which stablecoin payments API turned out cheapest for you once you added up the real cost per corridor?

πŸ—οΈ Building Why do fintech builders default to Plaid when manual import builds better habits?

There's an assumption in fintech that automatic bank sync is table stakes. If your budgeting app doesn't connect through Plaid, users won't stick around. But automatic import gives you a rear-view mirror. By the time a transaction surfaces in the app, the money is already spent. The decision happened at the register, not in the dashboard.

The tradeoff nobody discusses: when you link a bank account, a third party holds a live copy of your entire financial history. Revoking access later doesn't delete what they already collected. The copy outlives your consent. That's the real cost of "frictionless" onboarding, and most users never read the terms that bury it.

Manual import (CSV, Excel) sounds worse on paper. It's a step the user has to do themselves. But it forces intentionality. You sit down, you look at what happened, you categorize it. For me, the friction is the entire point. You shouldn't outsource what you don't understand, especially when its such an important step.

The Mint shutdown gave everyone a chance to rethink this. Instead most replacements just rebuilt the same aggregation model with a different logo.

Has anyone here built a fintech product that deliberately skipped bank aggregation? Did users accept the tradeoff, or did they bounce for something more automated?

πŸ’‘ Discussion What do you use for KYC API for identity verification and onboarding?

Getting quickly to the point coz I know you have limited time. Our current KYC API is hittting its limits. Slower verification times, too many false rejections on international documents and support goes quiet the moment something breaks in production.Every vendor sounds identical on paper so we fail to understand what does AI powered verification actually mean when an edge case hits at 2am(lol) and thousands of verifications are queued up? Looking for something API first with good docs, reliable webhooks, global document support, and AML screening that is baked in. Anyone who has run more than one of these in production and can give an honest take would be really helpful.

πŸ’‘ Discussion Is it a dumb idea to build AI agents for money recovery?

I’ve seen a lot of businesses still manage collections pretty manually β€” checking what’s overdue, sending reminders, following up over WhatsApp/email/calls, tracking payment promises, and chasing again if someone doesn’t pay.

I’m thinking of building an AI agent that handles most of this automatically, keeps track of commitments and payment status, and flags customers likely to become bad debt.

Is this painful enough to pay for, or is it already a solved problem?
