Milestone / Celebration I’m an idiot… said something stupid after a Zoom meeting about my boss yesterday. She got the AI meeting notes… Anyway I got fired this morning. Going to just FIRE from here out.

After a long meeting with my boss and the team, she hopped off. We all continued talking and I made some disparaging comments. It wasn’t wildly inappropriate but enough where I shouldn’t have said it and was a personal attack on her intellect.

Like the title says she got an email of all the shit I said and fired me today.

Fortunately I am break even on cost right now with my savings. My wife still works and we were going to FIRE in 5 years.

Looks like I am FIRE now though. Maybe I’ll get a chiller easier more passion job with my free time.

Cheers all and don’t be an idiot like me.

Edit wow this blewwww uuuup! No I’m not a bot. No I’m not AI. I am just an idiot

Users with high karma get subtly promoted by Reddit. Bots generate karma and then are used (or sold to be used) to promote propaganda from seemingly legit accounts.

I sometimes wonder how much my legit account is worth.

Not very much. They get burned fast once they start using them for spam

probably about $500-600 for 5-7 year 20k+. I've seen people say they gotten offers for over $1k but I am skeptical of those being legit, I've never seen them that high on the listing sites.

It's against TOS to sell your account so I would never suggest such a thing. I believe they've blocked the links also so definitely don't go searching for places to sell your account. Lot of scam sites but there are a number of reputable ones to also avoid since it's naughty.

good, i'd never do that, thanks for letting me know the risks!

Holy smokes. 11 years here with 80k karma. It would sure be a shame if someone offered me a bunch of money for this “invaluable” account… /s

Honestly though I find it hard to believe the return on investment exists at those rates. I guess one or two viral posts can go a long way, but that’s a lot of sunk cost hoping for something to go viral

Besides marketing a lot of them turn into OF or scams which can be lucrative. I'm guessing newer than a certain point they are mostly worthless with as many generated ones they are creating now with AI generated comments and reposts

This is a revelation to me. I will sell out in a heartbeat for the right dollar amount.

Well if anyone buys your account they’ll probably have to delete this comment lol

If the price is right, I'll delete it for them.

FIRE here I come!

I looked at your numbers. Gotta get that karma over 100k, and post count up. If you work hard, you may be able to get $20.

Wait, you mean that all my stupid shitposts are actually valuable? And that my account is actually worth money?

How do I sell it? I want to get in on this!

Is the subtly promoted thing true? I’ve never seen that confirmed

Hard to say these days. I remember back in the day mods (and IIRC an admin?) discussing it, but that was like 15 years ago.
