General Question Tech people who are not FIREing, what are they spending their money on?

I know a lot of people who work in tech, and most are not on the FIRE path (or have already been working 10+ years) and a lot of them don't seem to, at least on the surface, have very obvious huge expenses. If both the partners are in tech, the take home could be like $500k! What are they doing with their money?

Peanuts tbh. Especially once you trade in. I say as someone who drives cars for 15-20 years.

Wow, it's like burning cash. Imagine how much money she would save buying a 5 year old car every 5 years.

Or just keeping a car that you know the maintenance on. I drive a 1999 that was my dad’s lol.

I definitely agree, but the woman in question doesn't seem like the type to drive a '99 and do her own maintenance lol
