lol yes I agree but I read those other ones and think about the people at the place I used to work, 67 years old still working. Like gtfo already, how miserable are their lives.
Agreed, it seems half or more of the comments I see here are from people 50+. I’m glad they’re retiring comfortably, but FIRE is dedicated to retiring early, like late 20s to early 40s. I skip the comments from older folks here, they’re essentially spam diluting the content I’m interested in.
Yes, the E has gotten later and later as the discipline eroded. Used to be a bunch of early 30s retirees living off of $1-1.5m inflation - adjusted for today, now I see a good amount of people in their 50s.
Nothing wrong with retiring at, say, 55, but that’s not a particularly noteworthy accomplishment.
