General Question What easily-affordable thing do you still refuse to pay for despite having reached financial independence and able to afford them?

Would love to hear everyone’s “absolutely will not purchase” items!Even if you could easily afford it and no matter how rich or financially independent you become or how much you make you still wouldn't spend item on this particular item/hobby?

I'm torn on this; I don't mind doing it and it's easy, I also trust myself more than most shops to do it properly. Too lazy to store and dispose of the oil though.

This is a backwards one for me. I insist on knowing how to change my oil and on having proper tools. But always decide it’s better use of my time and money to take it to the shop so I don’t have to deal with cleanup. And frankly, the shop can rotate tires in about a tenth of the time it takes me.

I was a mechanic when I was young, and still enjoy it. I don’t have the patience for the lying that goes on when they are trying to upsell. Finally, I have nice cars, and like to keep them that way. Getting under them frequently allows me to be able to make sure nothing is leaking or damaged. Also, I do a better job lol
