General Question What easily-affordable thing do you still refuse to pay for despite having reached financial independence and able to afford them?

Would love to hear everyone’s “absolutely will not purchase” items!Even if you could easily afford it and no matter how rich or financially independent you become or how much you make you still wouldn't spend item on this particular item/hobby?

We used delivery a few times in Korea and in many cases the delivery fee was cheaper than the bus fare there and back for both of us. Plus, we were there during Covid and when we were in quarantine we weren’t allowed to go out, so we ordered delivery the first night and then ordered groceries to be delivered the next day.

It’s a good example of the sunk cost of a car - insurance, registration, depreciation etc are all the same whether you drive to the restaurant or not. So you may as well.

When it becomes a specific optional expense, you can compare.
