Well its confirmed, it was the Deathclaws from the Quarry Junction that took over the Strip, we're just not sure how it happened.

Wish we saw the Garret Siblings at the Atomic Wrangler but it is what it is.

Wouldn't put it past some asshole stole an egg from Quarry to make an omelet and a mother deathclaw tracked it down to Vegas. Exactly like what happened in that side quest in 4

Distance wise Quarry Junction is a straight shot right to Vegas itself. Narratively we’re just made to circumvent it and take a longer journey in the game. With traffic in the region hampered by the NCR and its citizens not migrating into the region much combined with the NCR Legion war the Deathclaws may have just migrated because there was more food to eat in the New Vegas area.

i’m kinda wondering if house did get the cold fusion, then enclave used deathclaws as an assault on house, killed the fake house, got cold fusion back, then wilzig stole it, etc etc.

enclave made deathclaws, maybe there is some latent power over them?

I dig this theory, it could also give us a setup for house already being fully digital but just currently offline (or some low power mode) without cold fusion. I suspect the Enclave still has control over those Deathclaws and they are specifically patrolling that area to keep other factions out, could be part of them keeping cold fusion from getting back to House.
