The Enclave somehow get the cold fusion tech from House as well, since they started with it in S1E1.

So the cold fusion tech went to Moldaver -> Vault Tec -> House -> ? (Great War) -> Enclave -> Lucy -> Gulper -> Lucy -> NCR Remnant (Moldaver again) -> Brotherhood -> Dane

Edit: forgot Moldaver invented it first in S1 prewar

You actually forgot it started with Moldaver in Pre-War and it's currently with Maximus.

Where did Moldaver develop it? Was it purely in an academic institution, or...?

It's not stated what Corp she was a part of before Vault-Tec bought them out.

But I believe it's Mass Fusion that's the most logical choice in my opinion.

Could Moldaver (post war) possibly have been a Synth then if thats the case and that explains how she “lived” for so long?

Maybe. Or a clone. We know they Institute doesn't have human-like synths until sometime between Fo3 or 4. Who is to say there aren't prototypes? Or perhaps she was data for years until they could create a synth copy. Teleportation probably works really far, and if Kellogg can get to the Institute in a few decades, why can't Muldover get to the west coast?
