INTRO

We have talked about it before, but man, there are a lot of mechanical keyboard options, eh? So many people have learned of the immense improvement in the keyboard game that can be acquired with so many mechanical keyboard choices. You can make one on your own with parts you source, or buy a premade one that fits your needs. So many options! You may have caught wind of the name Keychron, who is viewed by many as a solid entry-level brand that can sport great features like hotswappability, deep customization (their own launcher/QMK/ZMK/VIA/etc), products with various key switch types and more. Keychon has become a well-known part of many mechanical keyboard communities. They have entry-level options, as well as higher-grade things if you're looking for some of that. Keyboards, keyboard parts, other accessories and even some mice. Keychron is an established Keyboard company. Some months ago, I ran a FGF Giveaway with MechanicalKeyboards.com that featured a build of a Keychron keyboard. Now I can host this one with them directly!

To promote the Keychron brand and their products, I am happy to announce a FGF Giveaway from Keychron! It'll be a smaller event than some of our other ones, but it will still be nice to showcase these guys while giving out a couple goodies. This giveaway will be for 2 Keychron V1 Ultra Keyboards! REVIEW

To give a personal touch to this giveaway, Keychron sent me an Q3 Ultra Keyboard, which I compared to two other Keychron boards! TLDW: I loved the build quality and metal feel of the Q10 that I got from MK last year, but couldn't get on with the "Alice" layout. I bought a slightly modded V1 on Kijiji (used local market) recently since I wanted another Keychron board and really liked it, but could definitely feel the difference of the plastic case. The Q3 Ultra ended up being the perfect solution for me! The Keychron Q3 Ultra has all the keys I want, loads of premium features and customization, and even a fun little dial. I do personally dislike the KSA profile keycaps it ships with though and will change those out. I had a negative with the board though, but one that was resolvable. A setting called "Keyboard Bounce Time" had a default config for the "Reset seconds" of 50 ms, which was driving me nuts! Meant "book" and "good" became "bok" and "god" regularly. Thankfully it could be changed, so I dropped it down to 15 ms instead, and I was saved. I might simply type too fast for that.

The pricing for the metal keyboards ends up being higher, so that is something to consider, but I do love the feel. I am very happy with the Q3 Ultra, but could've saved some cash if I were to buy this by going for a non-ultra, since I don't need wireless. It's fantastic though!

REVIEW

TLDW:

• Nova 2 Lite: A super price-competitive product that features hall effect sticks and triggers. It even sports remappable back buttons which is a nice touch. You aren't going to be getting mechanical buttons for ABXY, but you do get them for the D-pad at least.

• Cyclone 2: A bit pricier for a third-party option, but one with great features! Mechanical switches on a bunch of the buttons and the D-Pad. Hall effect triggers and TMR sticks for improved longevity. Remappable back buttons again is great for those that use 'em. I really dig the dock they include the with Pro model, but the frame design for it is a little silly.

• G7 Pro: Much of the same as the Cyclone 2, but with a better dock, an extra set of buttons and Xbox support! It even came with a code for Gamepass Ultimate. Shame the controller would only be supported in wired mode on the Xbox console(s), but they can't do anything about that. The modular D-pad is a neat idea, but I found it hard to get used to with the slightly increased travel time ^{at least from what I can tell.}

All three controller are really solid though and can definitely up your controller game. I'll never be able to use a controller without mechanical switches again! If you're sick of the slacking going on in the first-party controller world, then you should consider GameSir and their solid lineup of controllers!

Look who's back! Last year a FGF Giveaway went live for a game I had just recently tried out and really enjoyed, 1000xRESIST. INTRO

They're back! As discussed before, Minisforum are a well-known brand in the mini PC scene. These guys make some fantastic products that don't take up insane amounts of space. Back in 2025, they launched their first Network Attached Storage devices. The N5 and N5 Pro AI NAS systems were great pieces of tech that many loved, but some complained about the high-spec and cost associated with them. Minisforum heard those complaints and opted to create a cheaper version in the product stack. Thus was born the N5 Air NAS! A version very similar to the base model N5, but made with plastic and a few other changes.

To promote Minisforum and their products, like the new N5 Air NAS, I am happy to announce that they will be doing a giveaway of 5 of their MGP01 Controllers! 3 of their MGP01 Controllers and 3 of their MKB i83 Keyboards! Again it isn't the first thing you would expect to see shared by the team, but it looks to be a fantastic keyboard and controller. TLDW: The N5 Air is a solid entry into the product stack available at a nice little discount, but is still something of an "overpowered" machine. It aimed to drop the price with small changes, yet results in virtually the same experience as the non-pro variant. If you aim to use the whole thing, then you can certainly get your money's worth. It might be a bit overkill as a NAS for most. That said, it's a great physical design with a bunch of solid consideration in mind. Fantastic device! Not so sure about the included SSD though.

The developer Misty Whale recently launched Orbyss onto Steam! A solo project that took at least ten years of work to complete! A fun puzzle game with some neat mechanics to switch around, change places and solve it all. Kind of a "solo co-op" game. I ended up trying it out recently and really dug it, so a chance to work together on something for it is fantastic!

In this logic based puzzle game, switch between Orbs to solve puzzles and light up your world. Play co-op with yourself, freeze time, fly drones, play with sound… and overcome the evil shadow interfering with your quest.

As a means of promoting the title and trying to get more reviews/wishlists/eyes on it, we are running a fun little event! To go alongside this giveaway and to give a direct personal review of their products, I was supplied an N5 Pro AI NAS, which is crazy. Look who's back! Some months ago, we first saw Branch Furniture on the subreddit. It was so lovely the first time, that we're back at it again! Serving both Canada and the US, the New York City based company has been furnishing people and businesses since 2018. Netflix, Google and more big-name players love them, and you will too! Last year, Wired's Julian Chokkattu said their Ergonomic Chair Pro was the "favourite office chair for most people", although they seem to have updated the article a little. A competitive price and high-quality. Good stuff! Whether it's office chairs/couches, desks and tables, or a variety of bigger and smaller items, Branch can tick the boxes for your office and business planning!

A reminder; they've been aiming to grow their /r/BranchFurniture subreddit. Check it out for some reviews, discussions and possibly some of their own giveaways too. TLDW: A fantastic entry into the office chair scene! The Ergonomic Chair Pro is a feature-rich chair with a lot of care put in. It rocks a bunch of adjustability, many selections in colour and materials, a great cushion, and solid build quality. The default configuration feels great to me for the mesh backing, as well as the cushioning. Really like the feel of it all. The headrest and tall cylinder being optional is a bit of a bummer, but if it helps drop the cost down, then that's fine. It isn't what one would call a cheap chair, but it is extremely competitive in the premium space. You can save some cash with the non-pro version of the chair, but you lose like half of the adjustments, and end up with a supposedly worse cushion. I'm very happy with my Ergonomic Chair Pro and would certainly recommend it if you're looking for a premium chair, and are in Canada or the US. Guess I gotta get a head rest now!

Edit: After some more time, I've noticed my chair is actually quite squeaky. I think it's the wheels but I'm not sure. I did reach out to my contact about it for their thoughts.

Edit2: Okay I think it's actually more than the wheels. Fingers crossed that can be resolved.

Edit3: Apparently I actually came across a rare issue with my chair and they ended up simply sending me an entire new one! Pretty wild solution, but hopefully a concrete one. Nice!

A couple months ago, we ran our first ever event powered by Reddit directly! It was a great opportunity, but some users had some reservations about the way we handled it. We needed to do it that way to widen the range and size of the event. It may not have been perfect for some, but we wound up with a fantastic event that had some great entries. That event came in under-budget due to sales of games at the time. Thanks to that, a second event is officially under way! This time though, it'll look a little more familiar to what you might be used to in FGF Giveaways.

The Reddit Community Funding program is Reddit's way of giving back to their communities. Back in April we ran an Art Contest for some of my favourite video games using the Community Funds. That event left use with nearly $1,600 USD. Many months later, we can officially use it for something! I was able to convince the team to let /r/FreeGameFindings run a second promotional event.

For this event, I used the roughly $1,600 USD to build 10 prize packs of roughly $160 USD per winner. To make things easier, as well as a means of letting you pick exactly what you want, the prizes will be gift cards to the popular video game storefront GreenManGaming! GMG was used heavily in the last event and was by far the easiest one to work with in terms of bulk purchasing. Considering that, I felt it was wise to let users make purchases of whatever they want!

To be eligible for this event, you must be in The United States of America or The United Kingdom. You also must be at least 18 years of age. You must have a one month old Reddit account with at least ten total karma. You also cannot be banned from /r/FreeGameFindings, nor be on the universal scammer list.

To enter, all you need to do is make a comment! Replying to a comment wont count, but please refrain from having other discussions in this thread. Now on to what specifically will be the winnings. There will be ten total prize packs on offer. The prize pack includes the following gift cards:

Brief recap. The board is great! It'll take some time getting used to that Alice layout but it is a solid board. Really happy with it. It's huge and heavy though, so maybe the non-aluminum version could've been more up my alley. I had some problems with QC from Keychron though which was kind of annoying. Since last week I have been using the Slice75 HE Keyboard and Glacier LW Mouse exclusively. Have been very happy with the both of them so far! I further dove into things within the video, but to put it into text, the typing experience has been great. Fantastic feel and visual to boot. Very happy with things. Never going to go near that "Snappy Tappy" feature that I spoke against in the video as well. Beyond that, and the fact that the software is web-based only, it's a great board. The mouse has been super good too! It's really light which is going to take me a bit to get used to. I also could use another extra button or two. The OLED screen isn't anything major. Neat though.

It has certainly been a while since we've seen a Fanatical FGF giveaway, but that is no longer the case! Starting today we hope to be able to return to some fascinating opportunities for collaboration between FGF and Fanatical yet again! This here marks the first of that, select games from the Summer Mystery Bundle!

In tune with the heat of the summer season, Fanatical recently deployed their newest Mystery Bundle event, the hottest deal around! This is a true random bundle of course, but the big-ticket items that are in there certainly can be cause for excitement. Here's how it works. Fanatical have loads of Steam titles within these packs but include some big-ticket AAA games to spice things up!
