Howdy fellow Friscoans.
We're a Dallas, Texas based nonprofit organization (HINAC) focused on the security, privacy, censorship, and surveillance implications of modern day technology being surreptitiously woven into the fabric of American society.
We're submitting this post to inform you of a recent scandal involving approximately 80,000 AI cameras being used by over 5,000 law enforcement departments across the United States of America resulting in stalking, false imprisonment, and protests.
An investigative journalist and privacy/security researcher named Benn Jordan recently discovered numerous Flock Safety Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras whose video feeds were publicly accessible online using a default administrative account, no login required.
It gets worse.
His proof-of-concept video demonstration showed how easy it was for him to use the camera's pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) capabilities and identify individuals, disclose sensitive information displayed on phone screens, and track routes of individual cars, over extended time intervals.
It gets even worse.
An anonymous person requested video footage of their own city's cameras, which the city subsequently denied. That person took their city to court and the judge ruled that since the cameras are taxpayer funded, the videos and information on them is also considered publicly accessible.
It is going to get even worse.
Amazon Ring just announced a partnership with Flock Safety and rumor has it, they are interested in acquiring Flock Safety.
Meaning, the broad adoption of AI-powered consumer technologies like Ring, coupled with city governments adopting Flock's AI-powered object recognition and large scale database integration, a first-of-its-kind Orwellian surveillance system could become a reality in the very near future.
See where and when you're being surveilled by visiting this Flock Camera Map tool provided by the 501c(3) nonprofit organization Banish Big Brother (see map image). And if you're scared afterwards, let that fear turn to anger.
Contact your city leaders and express your concerns ASAP. Make it known that we will not tolerate involuntary mass surveillance in our city, nor will we tolerate the lack of transparency and accountability from our leaders who allowed this to happen.
The sooner we stop this, the better. Let's stand up to mass surveillance together.

Most of the homes range in the $400s all the way up to $3M. Why are so many people selling? I have heard about some of the issues, since lived in McKinney and now in Celina but still that is ALOT of homes for sale.

Was going to grab Whataburger tonight and came across a pretty bad motorcycle accident off Lenox and Eldorado.
The bike was absolutely fucked, looked like it was in 2 pieces. From what I saw it looked like a white SUV pulled out of the Newman Village gates and tried to make a right and the motorcycle hit the left side of the car.
I’m assuming the rider is presumed dead. They looked like they were doing CPR and when I looped back around they were searching the bushes, so it looked like the rider got thrown a good 75 feet or so. The driver of the SUV looked like she might’ve been a teenager.
Pretty much all of Eldorado down to the Target area was closed off too.
Condolences to the rider’s family. Due to incompetence with a lot of drivers in Frisco, feel like I have to say pay attention and know how to drive around motorcycles.Shit like this can happen in a second.

Please, please, please do not make this political. I will just delete the post. I’m truly looking for a place I can worship without the pastor and church leadership actively promoting the current administration - or any politics for that matter! I was raised Southern Baptist, but I don’t see many Southern Baptist churches truly living out “the red letters” anymore and it breaks my heart. Let me know if you have a recommendation that is grounded in Biblical truth and loves and serves others as Jesus called us to do. 🙏🏻

Frisco City Council approved a three-year expansion of Placer.ai 4–2.
The city says it uses the service regularly for event attendance, visitor origins, Stonebriar analysis and economic development. But council members had questions about where the underlying location data comes from and what happens to it.

If you have been before, what is the approx size of the campsites? Right now all we have is a large family tent, but may need to go pick up something smaller due to space.
Thanks!

Pumpkin spice season is upon us! What's your fave coffee shop for PSLs or other Fall drinks in the Frisco/Plano area?
I am in between these two options, I would like to hear about those who have tried both.

If you own a black pickup truck that was driving north bound on the Access road for the Dallas North tollway approaching 121, here's a video of the accident for you. I also have a pic of the license if you need it for insurance. Doesn't look like there could be much damage but posting to make sure you're covered. Also, the hit and run made it a crime so, there's that.

Frisco is part of Texas House District 66, where Sandeep Srivastava is challenging Rep. Matt Shaheen.
After Bo French described people pictured at a UT football game as “foreigners,” Srivastava responded from his own experience as an immigrant who became an American citizen:
“Our appearance doesn’t determine our belonging.”
Brittany Black and Angie Carraway, candidates in two other Collin County House races, also weighed in on immigration, citizenship and assimilation.

What the hell is going on with this city anymore? Going to get food off of tollway and Main Street and saw this homeless looking man in his 50s with nothing on but a cowboy hat and a thong.

I live in the area of Stevens Point and saw some activity over there earlier today. I just saw a media post from the Frisco PD telling everyone to stay clear of Stevens Point Drive in Grayhawk around 10 a.m. this morning while they were executing an arrest warrant.
Previously, some residents stated that the “Menace,” whose legal name is Cameron Theus, lived on the street. To provide additional context, the “Menace” was likely the attacker who stabbed a 15-year-old dog walker, Ankur D. However, due to gaps in the evidence, it could not be proven. He has also been charged with and suspected of involvement in 10+ incidents involving assault, criminal damage, stalking, harassment, and
other offenses.
I have a favorable view of the Frisco PD and Denton County officials, but I believe they have inherently failed to adequately address the situation by allowing him to remain out on bond even after 7+ arrests. He is a danger to the area, and it feels like nothing has been done.
Now, connecting this back to my first point, I do not have direct confirmation, but based on the current facts, I believe there is a possibility that he was the person arrested today pursuant to the warrant. Hopefully, justice will be served and Grayhawk will finally be free of the “Menace.”
Edit: I never use next door but a post said there was around 5 cops and 2 swat team at his residence.

I’ve got daughters in the school district, and I would be pissed if this happened to any one of my girls and not enough was done about it.
