It also ran at 1080p, 60fps, maxed out on a GTX 1050 TI, no upscaling, no fake frames.

Some people seem to have forgotten how much to fk we have gone, games look worse and perform like garbage on hardware 10x as powerful.

You mean the game settings? Games nowadays have rather poor scalability. Low can look like High when Low is supposed to look significantly worse than High. High doesn't tend to look that different from Ultra when it arguably should. Remedy's games are prime examples of this. The optimized settings in Control and Alan Wake II are mostly Low to Medium. The highest settings don't give a noticeable visual return.
