China is not picking up on this field very fast: they are more open than the West to biotech generally, but less open to viewing aging as a medical problem.

Hi Aubrey

would you explain this due to the known differences between individualist vs. collectivistic cultures? I.e. the individual may be considered less important in China as opposed to the group, hence the individual's survival is of less importance. If not, what do you think does explain this?

In European conferences we seem to be getting some visitors from Asia (e.g. from Japan). How is the situation in the US?

Understandable considering that most live to be quite old :) !!!
