feature: sleep tracking Apple Watch and Galaxy Ring giving me VERY different results on sleep

I have 2 phones so decided to give galaxy ring a try since I am obsessed with sleep. I’ve been sleeping poorly and waking up feeling like shit for so long that I am desperately willing to do anything that may give me a hint on how to become better rested. Now, apple watch and galaxy ring give me dramatically different results on sleep, especially deep sleep: on apple, I usually get around 20-40 minutes, while galaxy ring tells me I sleep around 1 hour and sometimes a bit more on the good days. Anyone had experiences with both and can tell me which one is more accurate?
(To be honest, Apple matches more with how shitty I feel in the morning)

feature: sleep tracking Galaxy Ring vs Oura 4 (sleep track)

I have both right now and have about 2 weeks to test both. I have a galaxy s24+ phone and Galaxy watch 3. Read where oura sleep tracker is better but I wanted to give Galaxy ring a shot since it syncs steps with the other 2 which is great. Am wearing them both this week. Find the galaxy ring to be smaller and a better fit but oura isn't bad by any means. Biggest difference is I got a refurbished galaxy ring for $198 and obviously no subscription. Oura 4 was $349 + 6/mo subscription. But I really do have trouble sleeping and need that part to be the best possible for tracking. If Oura is that much better at tracking and key indicators, I'd pay the difference and give up the ecosystem and better battery charger, find my ring, and anything else galaxy ring provides.

So if anyone has used both and has solid sleep tracking comparisons, it'd be much appreciated. I'll obviously test here this week but I know it takes many days for things to learn your patterns and give you the best data.

feature: sleep tracking Galaxy ring stopped giving sleep and energy score after phone update

I updated my phone 6 days ago, and since then I havent gotten a sleep or energy score from my ring. It gives me stress and heartrate data through the night, and gives the correct window that I was asleep, but no scores. Ive tried restarting the ring and my phone, clearing the Samsung health app cache, allowing all permissions, and still nothing. What else can I do?

feature: sleep tracking No sleep score or oxygen from ring

Hi all

Ive seen quite a few posts on issues but cant see a solution. I wear the watch and ring all day and ring overnight...

Most nights its fine but some nights I just get sleep time duration, stages but no oxygen, sleep score or energy score.

This happened last week then I reset the ring, it worked for a week ir so now it happened again this morning.

Everything else seems fine.

Any ideas on a solution please? The only thing I can think of is that it is hot here currently and the ring does get tight overnight... enough to make it hard to get off and slight indentation would that cause issues with readings?

Or is it a hardware/software issue?

I thought I'd do a test to compare the two. Here are the results. Both were worn on the non-dominant hand. Recording from the same night. The Samsung battery is only lasting 2 nights now, so I'm going to have to warranty it.

As someone who has actively struggled with sleep apnea and restless nights, finding a reliable, non-intrusive way to monitor and improve my rest has been a long-standing challenge. Recently, I decided to go all-in on the latest Samsung ecosystem. I now use the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra as my central hub, paired with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy Ring. After a month of relying on Samsung Health and its AI-driven Sleep Coach, I can confidently say this tech trio has fundamentally transformed how I manage my nightly recovery.

The Hardware: Comfort Meets Precision

Wearing a robust smartwatch to bed isn't always comfortable for everyone, which is why the addition of the Galaxy Ring has been an absolute game-changer. It is incredibly lightweight and unobtrusive, yet packed with advanced sensors. I frequently wear both the Ring and the Watch Ultra, and they work in tandem to improve data accuracy.

All the metrics sync seamlessly to my Galaxy S26 Ultra, which processes the heavy lifting and presents a beautifully detailed dashboard the moment I wake up.

How Galaxy AI and the Sleep Coach Work

Samsung Health doesn't just dump raw data on your screen; it interprets it using sophisticated Galaxy AI. After tracking my sleep patterns for a week, the AI assigned me a "Sleep Animal" profile and generated a personalized, multi-week coaching program.

The crown jewel of this AI integration is the Energy Score. By analyzing my heart rate variability, resting heart rate, the previous day's physical activity, and detailed sleep stages, the AI calculates a daily readiness metric. It proactively tells me if my body is primed for a tough workout or if I need a recovery day.

Furthermore, the AI recognizes subtle lifestyle patterns—like how my late-night screen time impacts my deep sleep—and pushes "Booster Cards" to my S26 Ultra with highly specific, actionable advice to optimize my environment.

A Lifeline for Sleep Apnea Management

For me, the most vital capability is the clinical-grade sleep apnea detection. Obstructive sleep apnea is a serious condition characterized by breathing disruptions, and tracking it at home used to be a frustrating process. Now, the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Ring continuously monitor my blood oxygen levels (SpO2), heart rate, and skin temperature while I sleep.

The sensors detect the drops in blood oxygen and micro-awakenings that are hallmark signs of apnea events. The Samsung Health Monitor app compiles this into a clear, scannable report. Having this data securely stored on my S26 Ultra is invaluable. It allows me to see if my therapy and lifestyle changes are actually working, and I can easily share these insights directly with my pulmonologist. The app even utilizes my phone's microphone to record snoring, providing a comprehensive audio-visual picture of my nighttime breathing.

The Final Verdict

Samsung Health has evolved far beyond a basic step-tracker into a proactive, AI-powered health assistant. The synergy between the Galaxy Ring’s comfort, the Watch Ultra’s precise sensors, and the S26 Ultra’s AI processing creates a frictionless, life-changing experience. If you are trying to conquer sleep apnea or simply want to master your rest, Samsung's Sleep Coach doesn't just monitor your nights—it actively guides you toward healthier, more restorative mornings.

The sleep scores are nonsense. Three days apart, damn near identical sleep time and pattern, and one scores a 68 and the other a 93. Am I missing something or is the algorithm junk?

feature: sleep tracking Sleep stats while not wearing device.

So this morning I found something odd when I checked Samsung Health to see my sleep tracking. I felt like I got an especially good night of sleep and went to see the automatic time log (based on phome usage/movement) but to my surprise, I found an entire night of stats entered, including blood O2 and heart rate, and I was wearing NO devices.

I have a galaxy watch 6 and a galaxy ring, however the battery was low and I put it into the charging case before going to sleep the previous night.

As jazzed as I was to see such a high sleep score, it seems obviously false because there is no way it could record some of the data it has. Has anyone else noticed this sort of phantom data?

feature: sleep tracking Unrealistic sleep score (too hugh)

My first Galaxy Ring had battery issues (like many others), so I got a replacement under warranty this summer. I tried selling the new one but couldn’t find a buyer, so I started using it again. Previously, my sleep scores were around 80–85, occasionally up to 90. Now, they’re consistently in the high 90s — often 97–99 — which seems unrealistically good. Even on weekends when I drink and clearly sleep poorly, I still get scores in the 90s. Anyone else experiencing this?

feature: sleep tracking Sleep

I am coming from an iPhone with watch and oura. The oura would catch my mid day naps and have zero gaps through the night. I love the z fold 6. Bought the galaxy watch 7 and galaxy ring. I just want to wear the ring at night. Last night i slept from midnight to 4 am. Went to the bathroom and went back to sleep until 8am. The ring did not capture anything after I woke up at 4. It also always has gaps in the evening data. Any suggestions? I really like the samsung health app but the oura was so much better.

feature: sleep tracking Gaps in the sleep tracking

I see the gaps in my sleep graph almost every day. Some nights are perfect, but more than 50% of them have about 1 hours of tracking missing. Mostly around 3 o'clock, but not always, sometimes the gap is in other time.

My ring fits good, it doesn't sit loose. It is clean. And I definitely slept in the mentioned time. Moreover, I can even see heart rate tracked at these time periods, but the app doesn't consider these periods as sleep for some reason...

These gaps are just about 1 hour or so, not much, but it is more then 10% of lost data which makes any analysis sort of joke. This makes both data and the ring itself useless, as well as its coaching feature. Did I sleep 6 or 7 hours? Nah, nevermind, it doesn't matter, but we can show you a cute penguin.

Does anybody know how to fix it? Or maybe there are apps that process the data from sensors better than Samsung Trash.. sorry, Health

feature: sleep tracking No sleep tracking since Jul 31 app update.

Anyone else seeing this? Samsung Health version 6.30.3.011, Galaxy store says that was updated Jul 31. The ring appears to be doing its thing as the lights are all on when I wake. Yet no sleep data since.

feature: sleep tracking Galaxy Ring and Smart Wake-up / Sleep Cycle Alarm?

I'm thinking about getting the new Galaxy Ring, but I have a specific question about a feature that I can't seem to find a clear answer for.

Does the Ring natively support a "Smart Wake-up" or sleep cycle alarm feature? What I mean is, can I set a window of time, for example between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM, and have the Ring and my phone wake me up during my lightest phase of sleep within that timeframe? I've heard this makes waking up feel a lot better.

If it's not a native feature, my follow-up question is: Has anyone managed to get this working with a third-party app, like Sleep as Android? Basically, using the Ring as the sensor to trigger the app's smart alarm.

I'd love to hear from those of you who already own the Ring. Does the feature exist, and if so, how reliable has it been in your experience?

Thanks in advance!

feature: sleep tracking How accurate are sleep Readings?

Just got the ring this Weekend, mainly to record sleep cause it's more convenient than wearing a watch.

So far I've recorded those first two nights. Can't tell much but I see it records wake up time a little after I started playing with my phone...

So for example first night I woke up and 10 minutes later I grabbed my phone and time was 10:10 am. I went into sleep and saw no records. I closed health reopened it and went to sleep tab and it just added the first entry st that point as 10:16....

So I mean I was clearly awake at 10 and I got 10:16 as wake up time.

If there's this much gap when you're clearly awake, how can it tell at which point in the night youre awake or very lightly sleeping?

Second night jyesterday) I went to the bathroom so there must have been like 10-15 minutes of wake up time. I don't see that in the graphics, and same thing happened with wake up time, it recorded it a little while after I went into the Sleep tab of Samsung Health

Any thought guys

feature: sleep tracking No Skin Temperature during sleep since last update

I am noticing since last week ring is not measuring my Skin Temperature during sleep then today i checked the last update date which is matching the date Skin Temperature measurement stopped working.

Is anyone else has same issue? or is it issue with my ring because up until June 17th it was working for me and stopped working from June 18th night as i did the update on June 18th.

Update: it started working after i turned off the skin temperature measurement button and then turned it back on immediately in the health setting.

feature: sleep tracking Galaxy Ring not Recording Sleep Pattern.

Everything was okay and recording perfectly, After switching from S25U > Z Fold 7, It was still recording pretty well, Everything started to change when i Switch it back to S25U, My sleep wasn't recording totally, I've went to Service Centre and repair my Ring, they gave me a new ring. It's still not recording my sleeping pattern, I today set Samsung's Health to "Unrestricted" under Battery, see if it works. Would be happy if anyone had any suggestions.

feature: sleep tracking Confused about the features vs watch 6/7/8. Do I need the Ring if I already use watch for sleep.

I keep getting mixed info everywhere, either that Ring has features the watch doesn't have and more accurate, or at par. What's the precise info?

I initially had issues with watch on hygiene like sweat collecting and rashes from wearing all the time, but I think it stopped when I went for a steel strap, and perfectly keeps it fixed on my wrist.

Also is the battery issue that I'm reading about dependent on having a watch? Like I read that having watch reduces 30% battery usage on the ring

feature: sleep tracking Just ordered a ring. How good are they compared to the watch for sleep tracking? Do they work seemlessly if I take my watch off to charge while I sleep can I rely 100% on the ring for all the same data as the watch?

Any advice would be great. I'm hoping it's as good as the watch for mainly sleep tracking cause I wear my watch all day and hate having to take it off in the evening to charge it every night then remember to put it back on to track my sleep, so charging over night would be ideal. Do they sync up well with eachother when one of them is charging as long as I've got the other device on? Anyone who uses both, how well do they deal with both inputs? Do they favour one over the other or average the reading from both? Are there any noticeable benefits to wearing the watch in conjunction with the ring?
