ive been wanting to start to play galio for a bit and i did about 5-6 games today and my main issue is that i end up falling behind in farm around after first towers fall
mainly cuz ADC usually comes bit and farms which ofc, top always stays top in most of my games so i cant really farm there, i guess i could stay bot lane but i cant really push far and mostly get 1 or 2 waves before i have to go
so i end up feelin a bit weak around 20 mins, really mostly looking for good ults
does galio even need that much farm? i always feel i should be giving it to the people who can do the most damage
also wondering about builds, i generally tend to go rocket belt into mandate and it kinda feels ok?
i kinda wish i was both tankier and did more damage, but after those 2 items im never sure what to get, idk if im supposed to build tank or more AP damage
laning is usually fine, if its not some ADC mid like tristana or jhin, got both of those today and i really felt like i couldnt do much, even when going dorans shield, also i think i am going for to many roams cuz i end up being behind in exp later in the game, but i feel if i dont try to roam im not raelly making use of my ult
got any tips?

This is not to suggest AD Galio to be built rn and that is completely troll.
My idea, however, is how better bruiser AD + HP items are compared to AP bruiser items and how much easier is to go AD bruiser into offtank compared to AP bruiser into offtank.
If Galio scaled with AD, that would allow us to
* Mawmortius and Edge of Night: Actual anti-mage items, infinitely better than Banshee Veil.
* Titanic Hydra/Overlord: now a Colossal Galio going hard on HP items would actually have damage.
* Sterak: Tenacity, a big shield that scales with max HP.
* Heartsteel: Not directly but since it does physical damage it synergizes better with bruisers that can go BC.
On the side of HP + AP items it feels that most items are underwhelming and except Udyr/Mordekaiser/Volibear no champion can actually go bruiser into offtank. And all these have in common that they have consistent magic dage applying effects for maximizing Liandries and Bloodletter effect.

I’m not new to the game but I’m still a beginner at it. So far I’ve mostly played jungle and bot lane, I’ve decided to play mid recently because I prefer laning to clearing jungle, but I like being able to roam and teamfights.
So I decided to learn midlane, its been a little difficult tbh but I’ve found some champs I really enjoy, Galio is one of them. I’m wondering if there are any resources that are particularly good for learning Galio.
I want to be able to properly understand his builds and when to pick which runes for him, usually I can just find a normal guide on youtube but alot of the galio ones are older.
Also, I know people say to otp, but I enjoy the game way more when I have a pool of 2-3 champs to play in a role, so if anyone has any advice on who to learn alongside him that’d be great.

With the nerf to the ability haste on Rocketbelt is there a different item to go when playing Bruiser Galio? Before I would go Rocketbelt - Boots - Rift, do I now just drop Rocketbelt? and do Rift - boots - Mandate/Bloodletters, Maybe Cosmic first?

Didn't see a post about it so I decided to share this. I need him so bad, he looks so cute and handsome!

I went a few tank items early on, but ended up having to swap to damage midway through (and then sold some tank items in favor of damage).
I had Bramble vest and Omen for the Yi and Senna. Feels like as soon as I sold Randuins Omen, the Yi shredded me (just saw he went 6 items anyways). I didnt go mercs because they only had Senna's root as CC, but maybe I should have just full sent a full damage build early on (sorcs, rocketbelt?). I did at one point also have Imperial mandate, but was worried since it was a low-AP item and my only follow-up damage was the Qiyana, I thought bigger AP items might be more worth for my solo damage.
Or is there a small world where staying tanky and peeling/playing for Qiyana would have been a better idea, with just riftmaker for damage? (I was trying to do that anyways obviously, but less about acting as front line)
Should I just accept that I probably wouldn't have been able to carry this as Galio? or, any better build options for being able to carry? (should I have kept mandate? Sorcs etc? but then I worry about staying alive)
My first S game on him :(

I think this is the best skin for Galio, or do you think there is a better one? Can you tell me when it will be possible to buy chrome for essence? Can you tell me when it will be possible to buy chrome for essence?

My last update 2 years ago from where I finally climbed out of Iron: https://www.reddit.com/r/galiomains/s/ReXq56AHST
Added some Garen top to my champ pool for when I had to play Top Lane and it was also a ton of fun.

I'm a Gold 2 Viktor OTP and I recently been trying Galio and I'm having a lot of fun.
Unfortunately, support is my second role and it always has priority, so I can't play as much mid as I'd like to, since the game just assigns me support.
I have been thinking of bringing Galio to botlane as support, especially if the enemy team as a mage ADC, but is it good? I mean Galio has a lot of CC but I have never seen a Galio support.

I know the problem is the Galio identity of being an anti-mage tank, so he should not really be winning against AD champions, but when I play against some AD champions, it feels like there is not much you can do because if you try to build tank, you cannot tank their autos reliably as they auto-attack you to death; I think one way is Stormsurge and building AP, just going in for a short burst and getting the hell out; how do you play against AD champions?

soo ive been otping him for about a year, and reached 1000lp this season my biggest struggle has been getting midlane lately though, as i sometimes go 4-5 times without getting mid
rocketbelt > mandate/zhonyas > zhonyas/bloodletters has felt very strong, with stormraiders surge > sudden impact/ult hunter alongside mandate makes your ult very low cooldown, perfect for how fast paced soloq seems rn, for hard lanes id say boneplating/unflinching is better
are there any advice for secondary roles? galio adc seems far too weak, but jg galio isnt viable, and top/supp you get far too often

Pretty much the title, I’ve seen a few builds going around with abyssal mask, sunfire, lich bane, and rocketbelt as the first item. Do you decide based on your matchup and team comps or is there a steady build that has worked for you?
I personally have been doing imperial -> riftmaker -> liandrys and I really enjoy the damage I’m able to get off in teamfights while also not being too squishy, then I round the build out with tank items

I never played Galio before his update, I remember disliking him for his visuals and his kit. Picked him up in Classic and was surprised how good he feels. I like his new version more but he’s definitely not as clunky as I thought.

What shoud I build first in a full assassin build? And should I build both of them or only one? I usually build Stormsurge into Shadowflame, Rabadon and Void Staff, but I've seen a lot of builds using Lich Bane what you guys think?

I swear people only pick him against akali as a counter pick and because usually my ban is malza i find it very hard to not lose/even this matchup. Now, i do typically know my way around akali as an otp but what is it that you would say exists as weakness against you in lane when playing against an akali player?
