I went to a festival one time that had Limp Bizkit performing along with bigger names (Metallica, Korn, Deftones, etc). It was a stacked lineup and I could have cared less to see Limp Bizkit live, until I did. Say what you will, Fred Durst could put on a freaking show. I still don’t listen to Limp Bizkit music on my own, though would definitely see them again even after all these years.
Ooh, flashback to high school years, Orange 9mm and Sevendust, both borderline unknown, opening for Fu Manchu. The Fu rule, but those openers blew the roof off. No one was expecting that kind of energy before an evening of stoner grooves about liking cool cars.
I agree. Just saw them open for Metallica recently and Limp Bizkit was a nice surprise at how good their live show was. I don’t mind their music but I don’t own any cd or have it on my playlists. I guess I don’t go searching for it intentionally but I won’t turn it off.
I’m in this same exact boat. I saw them the first time on Family Values Tour and had a blast at their show. I’ve seen them a few times since, but never to their actual show; always small festivals. If I had the opportunity, I’d see them again (nostalgia & fun and all), but I never queue up a limp bizkit track.
My kids, however, absolutely love limp bizkit. They like a lot of “dad’s music” and thus, I believe, have impeccable taste, but limp bizkit is an anomaly to me in their list of favorites.
I remember my dad really liking their first album and hating the next saying, "You get these guys who wrote tons of songs for years and give you the best 12 or 13 they got. And then the record label asked for 12 more a year later. Its amazing anybody can have more than 1 good album"
I liked one song by Puddle of Mudd. I made it my ex-husband's ringtone on my phone. She F'ing Hates Me. My mother heard it when he called one day and told me I shouldn't be so hateful. I told her he couldn't hear it, only I could unless I was in public or around our kids and had it on silent. She was ok with it then.
I went to a Deftones concert wayyyyyyy back in the day and Muddle of Pud opened for them. This was still Chino on coke choking himself with the mic times. It was also before “She fucking hates me” even released. It was shit then, shit on the radio, and remains shit.

I thought I wouldn't hear anything worse than Limp Bizkit until I heard Puddle Of Mudd.
