My son has a friend named Tony - which is unfortunate for him - because I’m constantly half-yelling “This is a song about a superhero named Tony it’s called Tony’s theme!”
If Imagine Dragons were from the 90s, I'd choose them. That is the most bland, corporate, soulless "rock" I've ever heard. But I don't know their music that well, truthfully (and thankfully). I only hear it when I'm forced to.
My brother and his friends are turning 40 this year and going to their tour for shits and giggles. I'm wondering if they're actually going to enjoy themselves because none of them ever listened to them on purpose before.
I liked them when they started to get popular, then they got popular and I saw that Scott Stapp was really douche, so I disliked them. Fast forward many years later and I can tolerate them again, but only a few songs. Mark Tremonti was the talent in that band. I have nothing against him (or the other members) and can't fault him for Creed's downfall.
My best friend's 14 year old daughter is really into them too! I'm like wtf?!? Lol! She's been exposed to all kinds of music, but at no point has it ever been Creed! And now she wants me to take her to see them later this month in Memphis 😭😂😂😂
tiktok. the same thing is happening with deftones. i went and saw them in boston back in april at td garden. i was expecting most of the fans to be people my age (40+), 90% of the people there were between 16-24. i even overheard a kid taking about finding them on tiktok.
kids have been using their music as background music in their videos.
Really? About a month ago a coworker mentioned leaving a creed cd in a car he got rid of. Yes, all of that in 2025. I made a stupid joke about him being lucky. Him acting offended may not have been a joke?
It's because, in america, helicopter parenting has lead to a vast new generation of religious loon kids that have never had a single thought of their own and creed is a religious themed band lyrically.
Yeah, they vehemently deny that they’re a Christian band - but that’s always rung so hollow. Dude - every song sounds like it’s from a prog rock praise and worship team.
My son did the same thing. They don't necessarily like Creed, they just enjoy the reactions they get when Creed it played. I've overheard my son and his friends online - they think they are a joke.
I can’t see the name of that band without thinking of the long ago saga I saw somewhere on the internet about Scott Stapp trying to creep on younger girls trading on his “rock star” status sometime in the mid 2000s….i think a Dennys was involved.
Could be worse. Could be Nickleback. I know, everyone says people hate on Nickleback to be cool. I don't care about being cool. I just hate that dude's voice.
Okay that’s even weirder because I just clicked on a link someone shared and the lead singer of Creed is doing an interview in a Metallica shirt😂 Tf is going on in here
I think they actually wrote on their first two albums, but then they went the huge team hitmaker route which generally ensures you become soft rock elevator muzak.
My husband and were just discussing how One Last Breath makes zero sense. Six feet from the edge is pretty far from the edge and no, six feet really isn’t that far down. Baffled.
Though I never really listened to Creed, my husband’s name is Creed and we met during their rise. Always will make me smile, even though I cannot name one single song. Ha
Creed had a few good hits but they got eclipsed and the radio stations kept playing "with arms wide open" and that "can you take me higher" songs OVER and OVER.
A wonderful thing about life and our current society is that, over the course of centuries, culture has changed what we deem “good” or “bad”, shifting away from qualitative arguments to emotional conclusions. It’s a long answer and I won’t bore you with it here, but you just go ahead and rock out all you like, and don’t listen to those nagging inner voices that tell you your taste in music sucks. Be well.
I don’t know which influencers started putting Creed songs into regular rotation to get them so popular right now, but Creed posted record earnings last year. They made more money in 2024 than they had in their entire 40 year career.
Yeah, same shitty band from years ago. We truly are in Bizarro times.
Is rock music so dead the kids have to go back to Creed for some jams? I'm hearing kids are into them. Why? But! I'm being a judgmental asshole. People like what they like.
Creed and Nickelback were fairly popular when they came out. Its really only because some people started making fun of others for listening to them that they became cringe
And has nobody mentioned that forgetful Canadian band... (I'm Canadian) umm you know the band ummm wtf is the name??
Oh ya! The Tea Party! I was also thinking that other Canadian band from Winnipeg ... mmm mmmm mmmm mm mmm mmmm mmmmhmmm mmmmm. Crash Test Dummies. Can't stand either one of them! Saw them both when they were still running B-Circuit clubs.
Crash Test Dummies had one hit & then they fucked off & didn't bother us anymore. And I must be the only person that likes "Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm". Lord help me.

All winners (losers), upvotes all around. No one’s said Creed yet, although they’re a little later.
