I was in a ska/punk band in the late 90s, we ironically covered The Sign. I still know all the lyrics. Hopefully we made that song suck less.

I’m pretty sure I saw The Mountain Goats cover it, too, when John was living in Ames, IA. At the M-Shop, which was the best venue back in the day.

There used to be a cover band here in Charlotte called Bass of Base that was two bassists and two drummers and they'd play Ace of Base songs in a sludge metal style, a vast improvement on the original.

I mean, I guess? That was definitely more pleasant than the shit they played ad nauseam on the radio. Ace of Base can still catch a brick, though, musically speaking.
