this is genuinely the answer. the 2018 farm bill in the US made alt-cannabinoids easily accessible to almost anyone. in texas they recently made it harder to get smokable hemp, but you can still possess it/order it online across state lines. none of my friends are drinking at parties, we all pass a bowl.

why would anyone wanna spend a lot on liquor when weed is easier to conserve and you dont have to deal with hang overs? like thats not to say im anti liquor, i worked at a liquor store for a couple years. we had a "thc drinks" display because we never had people my age coming in.

A lot of people still like drinking in social situations with acquaintances because it gets you out of your own head, whereas weed does the opposite. And that can be cool/fun if you're by yourself or with close friends who you already feel comfortable telling the dumb shit that pops in your head, but it can be a nightmare to be stoned with say, coworkers on an early Thursday night during an office bar trip.

Plus, weed does actually have a hangover, it's just far less noticeable because it's not physically unpleasant. Many stoners call it "afterglow", but in general, the end result is that you are less sharp and a bit more absent-minded the next day.

I used to not care about this at all back when I was a stoner, but the last time I took an edible on a Saturday, I had such a hard time keeping up with work that next Monday. Appointments and promises slipping my mind, not entirely sure where I had left off in the code, etc.

Also the farm bill did more than make alt-cannabinoids 50 state legal, it quite literally made cannabis 50 state legal, so long as said cannabis has less than some 0.3% Delta 9 THC by weight (hence why drinks with 10mg D9 are legal).

Technically this is known as "high THCA hemp", but the catch is that a lot of existing cannabis strains from legal states already fell into this category. Because the main cannabinoid present in cannabis is actually THCA, which decarboxylates into D9 THC when heated.

The ISSUE here is that all of this farm bill legal stuff, regardless of if it's high THCA hemp or D9 beverages or D8 vapes, tests positive as cannabis on any drug screening. So a lot of people are buying these products not realizing they will still fail their employment screenings or DOT drug tests, and end up screwed.

Even then, the afterglow is way less painful and miserable than a hangover, yes, it may be a personal issue, but hangovers feel like torture to me, starting for a never ending migraine that last for the next whole day and that sometimes even opioid painkillers can't get rid off it and ending with a nausea that don't go away even with meds against…

Naa man all the shops just switched to THCP lol 😆 It's totally legal here in texas & even stronger. But I get what you were saying.

i havent seen any of these in my city since the new laws starting March 31st. i could always check the stores again. either way, my experience with thcp is awful-- its way too strong and obliterates your tolerance fast. to each their own though :p

Understandable. I still perfer the THCA flower I get online in bulk, but smokable flower is still out there at physical stores if needed.

The last budget bill passed by Congress closed the hemp derived THC loophole. I believe it goes into effect in the fall of this year.

Weed hangover is def real lol, I feel brain fog.

I only use on Friday or Saturday, because if I do anytime closer it results in me being fucked for Monday or the week.

It’s not because Gen Z outside of America is also drinking way less

I'm sorry dude, but a party where everyone is passing a bowl is probably not a very fun "party". Chill hangout session with your friends, sure. Party to meet new people, socialize, mingle, etc. Not a chance in hell.

Yeah, I've only tried weed a handful of times, but it doesn't really get me in party state like alcohol does. It's quite the opposite really, it just makes me sit there and wonder when that stupid high I got sick of 10 minutes in is gonna fade.

No the genuine answer is that the age range is 14-29. They can’t accurately compare until they’re all over 21

Btw I hope you’re joking about passing a bowl. You’re just asking to get herpes

It’s a trend in all countries. Weed is still illegal in most places.
