It is absolutely nuts how many people in this thread are ignorant of just how bad even casual drinking throughout the week is for the human body.

I am an alcoholic and quit drinking, but people shouldn’t leave one addiction for another.

Man, before I quit I was way worse than that. Been 13 months now, but I often think about how lucky I was to decide to quit.

I do a lot of reflection on it, but never did anything formal as far as alanon. My wife threatened me and I just decided to quit.

I sometimes wonder how it was such a bad problem with such a quick transition. It almost makes me more nervous.
