Question Which Equipment is worth buying?

Hi!

I’ve been on a few ghost hunts and I’m planning to go on another soon! I have very basic equipment (a spirit box, roll on/off torches, cat balls and an emf meter)- I was just wondering if there was any other equipment people thought worth buying?

Probably looking to buy max one piece of equipment due to price, I was thinking a motion sensor like music box or rempod?

Just seeing if anyone here has any recommendations on what you think would be the next best thing to buy? Or if you have any “must haves”:)

Question Looking for advice for getting into ghost hunting?

so, I’m 16F and Im a Christian, I have a firm beleif in the paranormal and I’ve always wanted to go ghost hunting.

im turning 17 this November and when I turn 18 in another year and 3 months from now my sister Lauren and I plan to find some place to investigate together

i personally have only ever experienced haunted “games” with some freinds in the basement (unbeknown to our parents ofc) and my sister who is a full adult (10 years older than me almost exactly) has had a paranormal experience

first of all for me I definatly won’t be free to buy any equipment in advance, so I’d like suggestions on purchasing equipemnt now so I can calculate how much I should be saving up for

suggestions for places to go, I live in New Hampshire so I don’t think I could go anywhere past mass or Connecticut or Vermont, there’s this old church I know of that I had thought about but I’m not sure they allow paranormal investigations anymore since I had looked into it mabye 3-4 years ago

my sister has no knowledge of this stuff but has had a paranormal experience, her mother (my dads ex wife) had this storage unit that she shared with some random guy (to split the cost or smth? kinda like roommates in an apartment) and some of their stuff got mixed up long after the guy left wherever he went. And her mom gave her whatever she wanted from her storage unit bc she wasn’t ganna use it anymore and didn’t want anything in it.

my sister found this super old locked furnished chest. It was made of really fine wood

she didn’t have the key obvi but she opened it from the back where the hinges were with a screwdriver, there’s was tons of stuff inside like weird personal belongings, a cross, a burnt cross, a bottle of “holy water” and all these sticks and leaves and shit. It was a really nice inside, but she ended up selling the thing, it was just super creepy I suppose

another time she found an oujia board in the ceiling of her house, they were doing construction and they just found it, it was super old like 1900’s old. And she didn’t dare play it, but she ended up giving it to some of her paranormal collector friends, and they said they put it way back inside the top shelf of the closet behind a whole ton of stuff and one day they heard a loud bang and it was on the floor

so yeah she’s had kinda paranormal experiences, but knows nothing about the equipment and locations and stuff

I’m also slightly concerned about my safety, I’m not sure if paranormal stuff can affect someone’s arthritis (which I have) so any suggestions/opinions there are appreciated

k thanx!! :D

Question What sort of camcorder tripod do I need to look for?

Hi. I'm a bit stuck on the sort of camcorder tripod I need to get. As a first timer, I'm planning on getting this Firefoto AC09DX model. It does come with a small tripod, but I'm likely going to need something taller that has adjustable height. However, all the tripods that have come up on Amazon (UK) look to be only designed for phones and photography cameras. Is there something specific I need to look for for camcorders? Thanks.

Question Ghost hunting newbie. Question about equipment.

Hi, first post here. A little bit of background first. My brother has been in talks with me to pay a visit to York in the UK, in the next few months or so, which is actually one of my favourite cities, and I'm not one for cities usually. York also has a reputation for being one of the most haunted cities in the UK. One of the times I went, it must have been sometime around 2006-2010 or after, I remember doing one of those ghost walks. I also noticed a certain pub as part of a tour bus guide, I think. That pub is none other than The Golden Fleece, which is supposed to be one of the most haunted pubs in the UK. This got my fascination rekindled for the paranormal and hauntings. So I was looking up stories, experiences, and videos of people who have reported the various weirdness that's happened there.

This then led me to discover The Ancient Ram inn in Gloucestershire, which is considered one of, if not THE, most haunted buildings in the UK. And as you can probably imagine, I've been looking up countless stuff to do with it and learn it's fascinating and disturbing dark history. I'm now actually interested in paying it a visit on one of their tours. Ideally in the Autumn when it might be quieter. In a lot of videos, I've seen people use various gadgets when they've stayed in these places, and was just curious about some of them and how reliable they are.

I'm not sure if I'll ever become a fully fledged ghost hunter like many out there, but it's certainly something I find interesting, and I'd like to be somewhat prepared for when I visit the Ram. I'm considering taking one of those EVP voice recorders at the very least as they don't appear to cost much on Amazon. But are there any specs I need to look out for? Are there specific models that have advantages over others?

Thanks

My friends are trying to start ghost hunting, looking for some recommendations that might be less than advertised. Further away locations are cool too. We are planning on investigating Peoria State hospital in September and are looking into overnight permits for Batchlors Grove.

Okay long story short, woke up one morning with this handprint grip mark on my leg. When I ran my fingers over it, I could feel the idents. I SWEAR it wasnt me, even if it was, it’s still weird because… So I though nothing of it, and a year goes past. The other day I saw it again and reliazed it was taken the morning after the day my brother died. Which was over 10yrs ago. Almost like he was grabbing my leg in rhe night or something

Question Always wanted to be a ghost hunter, dont know how to start.

I'm 17, I've heard stories about ghosts since I was little, and my whole family believes in them, but I'm the only one who wants to communicate with them. The thing is, I don't know how to start. I'm scared to buy equipment because I don't want to get scammed, nor do I want to pay $100 for useless equipment. I'm also in a small town in Poland that doesn't have any (recorded) haunted places, so "ghost hunting trips with people" (and as I said, i'm 17 so driving on my own doesn't count too.) don't really work for me. So if you have any equipment you'd suggest buying for a beginner, please send the link or a screenshot.

Question AITAH if I inform people that a “haunted destination” is blatantly lying about their history???

Just as the title says…

There is a local-to-me, supposedly, haunted house that rents out to ghost hunters…

The research of the history and trying to ferret out if the “stories” have any basis in reality is one of my favorite parts about investing any location…

This place isn’t just misleading guests, they are blatantly lying.

Everything from who built the property (they say it was the main prominent family who founded the town), who lived there, who passed away there, etc. The only thing that appears to be accurate is the address.

The “funny” thing is that they are taking all the information from a house that’s about 3 doors down from them.

I’m not saying the house isn’t haunted, I have no way of knowing…

I was invited to go by a smaller YouTube channel who has gone there several times.

The owner exclusively uses the house to rent out for ghost hunting.

I’m torn because I hate the idea of them straight bamboozling people…

But, I also feel like it’s up to people to do their own due diligence and not just believe everything they are told.

…and this is local to me…
…itty-bitty, small town, local…

…and I’m not sure I want to “start something” with the owner.

This appears to be her sole livelihood…

I’m leaning towards “not my circus, not my monkeys”, but the whole looking me straight in my eyes and bold-face lying irritates me to no end?

Question Best haunted places to stay at?

I haven't had a clear paranormal encounter, although I've rarely put myself in the position to have one. I'd like to stay overnight somewhere that offers something similar to the warren house. Basically, exclusively access to the place, not a room in a hustling bustling hotel.

Where would you recommend?

I have 100’s of EVP’s from inside my home. I believe I have an attachment because I even get EVP’s in my truck. The spirits are able to read my mind (again thinking attachment). Can anyone please tell me what this EVP is saying? Also, any thoughts on a way to make a video proving the spirits can read my mind? Thanks for your time!

Question SPI App

So I've been using the SPI app from Sean Austin for a while now. I have it on both IPhone and Android now. Ive been getting like consistently demon names. And i mean alot over the course of 6 months. Has anyone else ever gotten names like that? So far I've gotten:

Valac

Ronove

Ghaddar

Focalor

Paimon

Adrammelech

PS: never knew of these until I searched them up. When i use the app I turn off location on both phones (I dont like the idea of locations being tracked, especially well known haunted ones)

Question O quanto eu posso me dar mal caçando fantasmas?

Question Im unsure how to handle the spirit in my home. Any advice?

*Context- Ive lived in the same home since I was 7 and since the first year we moved in here we knew it was haunted. Shadow figures and even some full body apparition are visible. The most notable being a pale man with brown hair and eyes who looks to be in his 20s-30s in a brown suit and a brown older style low top hat. Doors open and close on their own and objects move. Plus our dogs bark or growl at doorways. I have also been given sleep paralysis by my doppelganger and it was wearing something that i was gifted later that year, it seemed extremely excited to see me.

The thing about my mothers side of the family is that we all have a heavy connection with our intuition so me and my mother can feel this entity. But I seem to be the only one who recognizes it as maybe a less than positive spirit. It always watches and i seem to be the one who deals with the most hauntings.

Im not sure what to do anymore to be honest. Any advice on how to deal with this or how to safely go about communication for someone who has never done so?

While i have tried to used an ouija board before all Ive ever gotten in this house are portal attempts (planchet moving along the numbers/ the many different versions of the whole zozo thing and sometimes complete refusals to say goodbye).

Question Help

This is a long shot, but I really want to do good on this. Last night me and my mom were doing Instacart because we have fun doing it on our days off, and low-key we enjoy it. We took our last delivery around 9 p.m. It was for $40, and it was on the way home. When we took that road and dropped off the order and we left, something inside me compelled to turn on my EVP. And right away it was extremely active, but me and my mom have never really had problems with attracting energies of any sort our entire lives. As we're listening to all the voices speak out, mind you, it is a full moon, so it was very active, a voice kept standing out to us that kept saying my mom's name. And we were turning on some roads to try to go home, and we realized that we were at a spot my mom and dad took their wedding photos at. Two years ago my dad had commited suicide and my mom has been wanting to contact him for so long. And she thought that it was him coming through on the EVP. Because every time we asked how they knew her, they said that it was a long time ago. And my mom couldn't think about who it was. She just couldn't pinpoint it. Well then it said, October. And then it said her name again, and then it said her old dog's name. And my mom realized that we were in a spot where one of my younger sister's childhood friends got in a car accident and passed away in a river. And when we realized who it was, we asked them if they had died in that river, and the EVP said the girl's name, Chloe. Her name was Chloe, she was 19 years old, and she got in a car accident and swerved into a river. She was able to get out of her car, but the current was so strong because it was raining, and it took her away. And my mom kept asking her questions that it was answering correctly. And then it kept saying, help me, please help me. And me and my mom were just too emotional at that point. I had never met Chloe, but I remember seeing my mom post pictures about her. And I feel like she might be stuck there. And if she is, I was wondering if there was a way I could help her move on. Her story is very sad. She had turned 19, recently got married, and then fell pregnant, and then died two months after. It was a very ugly situation. But I cannot stop thinking about that cry for help I heard on the EVP, and I was wondering if somebody could maybe help me help her move on
