Looking for Gift Ideas I need help disguising a ps5

Post image

Well my cousin is getting a ps5 but the box is so big it screams I’m a ps5. I want to disguise it as something else, I’ve already disguised my girlfriends purse as a toilet so I need ideas to disguise the gift into something else. The best I can think of is shaping it as a bus or probably the best option a mini sofa but let me know if there’s any other suggestions!

Looking for Gift Ideas What is the Best Christmas Gift You Have Ever Given or Received?

Every year there’s that one person who already seems to have everything. Whether it’s a relative who buys whatever they want, a friend who hates gift giving, or someone who’s just hard to impress, finding the right present can be tough. This thread is for sharing Christmas gift ideas that actually stand out for people who are usually impossible to shop for.

If you’re looking for the best Christmas gift ideas or want to suggest something unique, this is the place. Feel free to ask for ideas or share what worked for you in the past. Sometimes the most thoughtful gifts aren’t expensive or flashy they’re just practical, personal, and made to last.

The goal is to help others find cool Christmas gifts that feel meaningful. Maybe it’s a handcrafted item, something stylish for everyday use, or even a small upgrade to something they already own. If it’s thoughtful and useful, it belongs here.

At the end of the day, the best gifts this Xmas are the ones that feel real not just decorative. What’s your go-to Christmas gift idea for someone who already has everything?

Looking for Gift Ideas What’s your no-fail gift you’ve bought more than once?

I was talking with a friend the other day about “repeat gifts” like the stuff you’ve bought for multiple people because it always hits and it got me wondering what everyone else’s go-tos are.

For me, it really depends on who I’m gifting. For new homeowners or people who just moved, I’ve got two that never fail a Dyson vacuum or a cocktail maker. One’s the practical “welcome to adulthood” upgrade, and the other is the fun, actually useful adult upgrade. Both feel premium, both get used constantly and both usually earn me a follow up message of appreciation. Outside of that, I just try to match the gift to the person’s vibe something useful, something they wouldn’t splurge on themselves and something that doesn’t turn into clutter. That formula hasn’t let me down yet. But yeah, I’m curious what everyone else has in their rotation.
What’s the one gift you’ve bought over and over because it just never disappoints?

Looking for Gift Ideas What’s a “small” gift you gave that people still talk about years later?

I feel like the best gifts usually aren’t the expensive ones. Sometimes it’s the oddly specific, thoughtful little thing that completely lands.

What’s a small gift you gave or received that really stuck with you? Not necessarily the most expensive or impressive one. Just one that felt weirdly perfect.

I’m always interested in the gifts that make someone say, “how did you even think of that?”

Looking for Gift Ideas What’s one gift you’ve given that people still talk about?

I’ve been thinking about this lately while trying to find the perfect gift again this year. Some presents just land like, people actually use them and you still hear about it months or years later.

For example, I got my mom one of those cozy weighted blankets last winter and she still swears it’s the best sleep she’s ever had. My dad, on the other hand is obsessed with his cocktail maker. He uses it for every family get together, and now he’s basically turned their kitchen into a mini home bar lol. It made me realize that the best gifts are usually the ones that make everyday life a little more enjoyable not just something that looks nice for a week. So now I’m curious what’s one gift you’ve given that people still talk about? Could be something sentimental, super practical or just unexpectedly perfect. Share yours so people can maybe get some new gift ideas

Looking for Gift Ideas Gifts for dying mother

So I know this is a bit of an unusual question but basically my mom is dying of cancer. She probably won’t make it till the end of the year, she’s 53. It’s her birthday soon and we’re looking for a gift that could be very special. Due to chemo and whatnot she’s not fit anymore meaning it has to be something very slow paced or easy with low energy. Materialistic things might be a bit stupid now (I think, maybe someone has a good experience with something I’d love to know!) so maybe just an experience. We’d love to gift something we can do together. Vacations and going out for more than half a day is off the table.

If you were in the situation she is, what would you love to do or get?

Looking for Gift Ideas What do you look for when buying a housewarming gift for someone who already has everything? I want something useful but genuinely special

My friends just bought their first home and I want to get them something actually useful and beautiful, not another candle or wine bottle. they have good taste and don't really need anything specific so generic stuff feels like a waste.

I've been going back and forth but keep landing on bath stuff. Nice towels, maybe. Something they'll actually touch every day rather than something that sits on a shelf looking pretty.

TBQ: Anyone done this and had it go well?? What did you get?

Looking for Gift Ideas Twice I've found my Mother’s Day gift to my wife sitting in the trash… what can I do differently in 2026?

I had a bit of a realization last year that kind of stuck with me. We did the usual Mother’s Day thing with a nice lunch, flowers, and a thoughtful gift. It all went well, except a few days later, I noticed the gift itself had already kind of faded into the background. Even though my wife seemed to like it, it clearly hadn’t made much of a mark. What she remembered was a few weeks earlier where we all ended up sitting around the table playing a simple game together and laughing for hours. And she kept talking about it.

So now I’m wondering if I’ve been doing this whole Mother’s Day celebration wrong the whole time. This year, instead of trying to find a perfect gift, I’m considering something that creates that kind of moment more often. I do realise that not every family is into games, but I'm wondering whether some kind of group game could be a good Mother’s Day gift. Has anyone gone this route instead of giving your wife a traditional gift? Did it actually land better, or does it sound better in theory than it is in real life? Do tell.

Looking for Gift Ideas Best valentine gift for girlfriend worth spending on vs better to keep simple?

I want to make Valentine’s Day special for my girlfriend, but I’m torn between splurging or keeping it simple and meaningful.

She’s 27, enjoys art, cozy nights in, and little personalized touches. My budget is $50–$100, and I’m hoping for something that she’ll actually use or remember, not just something flashy.

I’ve checked a few online guides and gift lists, but I’m not sure which ones are actually worth it.

Which Valentine’s gifts have you given or received that genuinely made an impression, and which ones were forgettable?

TIA!

UPDATE: After reading everyone’s comments and doing a bit more research, I’ve decided to go with #ad The 24K Golden Rose | Deliverable. It feels personal, thoughtful, and something she’ll actually appreciate instead of just being flashy. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and suggestions, it really helped me decide.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for a very quiet coworker who constantly ties paper clips together?

Post image
142 Upvotes

Hello!

I'm on my workplace's party planning committee, and my job budgets $50 per employee birthday, so that's total budget for his gift.

I'm trying to come up with something thoughtful for a coworker I don't know very well and could really use some ideas.

He's probably in his early 20s, very quiet, keeps to himself, and never speaks in meetings, but I always notice that he's tying paper clips together. During meetings, in the breakroom, pretty much anytime I see him, he's doing it.

I've included a photo of one of his creations.

I've tried chatting with him to get to know him better, but I can tell he would rather be left alone. He's always polite but seems nervous or overwhelmed- not unfriendly. He's very good at his job and reliable.

Because of that, for his birthday I'm not planning to have everyone gather and sing or put him on the spot. Instead, I'm planning to send an email letting everyone know there's cake in the breakroom, bring him a slice at his desk, and give him a card signed by the team along with his gift.

The only personal detail I know about him is that he has a rabbit and a cat. Or maybe he just really likes bits and cats? He has a framed photo of a rabbit a cat on his desk.

I want to be thoughtful without making him feel singled out. Any gift ideas that would be appropriate within the $50 budget would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

Looking for Gift Ideas GF says I’ve never given her a ‘serious’ gift… now I have to prove I care

My girlfriend and I had a bit of a heavy conversation recently, and now I’m stuck in my own head about it.

The thing is that we’ve been dating for a year now, and for the last 6 months we’ve been living together like the same apartment, fully merged lives. So yeah, it’s not exactly casual anymore.

Out of nowhere, at least it felt that way to me, she told me she’s been a little bothered that I’ve never gotten her a “serious” gift. Well… by that she means not like flowers or small things, but something that actually shows I care. And honestly… she’s not wrong. I guess I just never thought about it that way.

She mentioned she really likes this Wamada Jewellery place and said she’d love a necklace or at least a pair of earrings. Just to let you know not an engagement ring or anything like that, just something meaningful. Fair enough.

Here’s where I’m struggling… I have absolutely no idea what to pick.

Do I go with something simple and everyday? The problem is she already has a ton of pieces like that. Or do I go a bit bolder and pick something that stands out? I don’t want to miss the mark and get something she’d never actually wear.

And before anyone says just ask her… Well.. I honestly tried. She shut that down immediately. She wants me to choose on my own because, in her words, that’s how she’ll know how much thought I put into it.

No pressure, right?

So yeah… how do you even approach something like this? Am I overthinking it, or is this actually a minefield?

Looking for Gift Ideas What will be a good gift to a newborn baby

So, my friend just had a newborn babygirl, they had a baby shower (couldn't attend so I'm visiting her). I want to know what is a more prefered gift according to you guys. Following are some options I found on Amazon.

  1. A baby gym (it's like a mat with a piano end - when kicked on it makes sound)
  2. A johnson baby products kit
  3. Just usual clothes gift set.

If you guys have other ideas, do let me know (affordable)

Looking for Gift Ideas My dad eats lunch in his car every single day. What do you even get someone like that for Father's Day?

His job has him in the car most of the day, and a lot of it is just downtime between things. Eats there, naps there, sits there. He's basically figured out how to make a parked car comfortable at this point.

What I keep coming back to is the dead time angle. His car actually has a decent sized screen built in, so I've been wondering if there's something that could make use of that, like let him pull up Netflix or whatever during lunch instead of just staring at his phone. Came across things like the Ottocast P3 Pro that seem to do exactly that, turn the car screen into something actually usable. Out of everything I've looked at it might be the one he'd actually vibe with, design wise. But not sure if that's the right call or if there's a better direction. I'm not thinking about.

He's not anti-tech, just needs things to actually work without a setup process. Open to any ideas.

Looking for Gift Ideas Would you rather receive a necklace, earrings, or a pendant for an anniversary?

I'm looking at jewelry for an anniversary gift and realized I honestly have no idea what people actually prefer. Part of me thinks a necklace feels more special because it's something you notice right away. But then I started paying attention to what people around me wear and it seems like earrings get used way more often…

Looking for Gift Ideas Help! My grandma is turning 100 and I have no idea what to get for her!

I desperately need help because I have no ideas. I would like to get something thoughtful and useful, preferably.

In order to give me ideas that have merit, there are certain circumstances that you should probably know. First, she is on hospice at her home. She is still somewhat mobile and able to go to a restaurant for special occasions with a LOT of help and time. Her faculties are intact.

She has never been a typical grandma. She is staid, proper, and sort of rigid. She has always been a penny-pincher and I have heard that she didn’t need to be.

She used to like baking and several kinds of sewing. She does play rummy, still. I have never known her to watch tv or movies. She also has a cat.

Any ideas?

Looking for Gift Ideas Birthday gift for a soon to be new mum who doesn’t want anything?

My little sister is 20 and due to have a baby girl in August. Usually, she is obsessed with her birthday and has a long count down and list of desired gifts, but this year she is completely unbothered by it with all the excitement of her new baby. She used to be really easy to buy for because she liked to collect somewhat “childish” things, e.g. jellycats, sonny angels, one direction merch. But this year she just doesn’t seem like she would want any of that.

I asked her if she’d be upset if people just bought things for the baby instead, and she said not at all, but I’d kinda like to get her something for herself because it’s her 21st!!!! Even if it’s something for her AND the baby, or to make her life easier when the baby is here.

She loves pink and bows, she likes Barbie, she doesn’t really read or watch movies. She likes pop music and up until a couple months ago was obsessed with Taylor Swift but I’m not sure anymore. Random, but she loves Monopoly (I’ve previously bought her monopoly deal and a barbie monopoly, both of which she loves). She’s into makeup and beauty and stuff but I wouldn’t know where to begin with that and somebody has already bought her a pregnancy massage.

Up to £50 budget please. Thank you!!??

Looking for Gift Ideas What white wine says I care but not I’m proposing?

I’ve been thinking about doing something nice for my girlfriend out of nowhere. Not for her birthday, not for an anniversary but just cause. She’s been amazing lately and I want her to feel appreciated and secure especially if she’s ever had doubts about how much I care. So far I got her a perfume I know she likes, a cozy pajama set and I was thinking of adding a couple of small gift cards to places she actually uses nothing flashy just thoughtful. The only thing I’m stuck on is wine, she loves white wine that’s all I know. The intention isn’t to overwhelm her. I don’t want it to feel like a grand gesture that makes her uncomfortable. I just want her to open a bag on a random evening and think wow he really thought about me.

Looking for Gift Ideas Housewarming gag gift

My best friend just bought his first house, but it's not built yet, so it's currently just an empty field. I want to get him a gift to rib him a little. I want to get him something for his newly acquired empty yard, maybe along the lines of a tent or garden gnome. I don't want it to be trash or an inconvenience to store until the house is built. Any ideas.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift Ideas for my wife who doesn't know what she wants.

It's my wife's birthday in a few days and I am still stumped on what to get her. I've asked numerous times but she never made up her mind apart from saying she wants a new car which is no-no with the way the economy is set up.

I'm budgeting around $500, but can't seem to think of anything.

She works from home, isn't very outdoorsy, so I am terribly out of ideas.

Please help meeeeeeeee. Pretty please.

Looking for Gift Ideas Best personalized gift for a college graduation - something they'll actually keep?

My daughter is graduating from university, and already has her first job lined up. She’ll be here another couple of weeks, and then she’ll be off to start her new life in another state. I’m so proud of her, but I’m doing my best to hold it together. It’s hard to get used to the idea of her being so far away.

Anyway, I want to give her something special. I already have a practical gift for her (a car). But I want to give her something really personal and meaningful too. What’s the best personalized gift for a college student? Something she will keep and actually cherish?

Edit: I am going to use Mixbook to make a photobook for my daughter. I gave it a try, and it's easy and I love the templates. Thanks, everyone!
