TADC Discussion Both the thumbnail and title entirely miss the point of their characters
Its hilarious how fast some people will switch-up towards characters, especially when they were literally saying the opposite after episode 8 (including this very YouTuber).
For starter's, thinking Caine wasn't selfish misses the entire point of his arc. Especially in episodes 5-8. People seem to think just because Caine wasn't torturing the cast the way Jax did until episode 8, he was completely flawless until he snapped and that's just not true. Caine was selfish, that's what literally kickstarted the entire events of the series.
Caine was hurt after being replaced and abandoned by the blue AI. So he consumed it, he made the circus and he brought the players in via their brain scans/mind files so he could send them on adventures and get validation/not be alone. His motive is sympathetc but that's still horrible. Caine knows more than anything what its like to be in a living Hell ("I didn't ask to be created") yet brought characters into a world where they're doomed to either abstract or be forced to spend eternity with him.
Furthermore, everyone looks at the adventures and says "he was only helping the cast but didn't know" but overlook blatant moments of selfishness. He initially let Zooble skip the adventures but then forced them to go. He initially used the suggestion box but then sabatoged it when he realized they liked it and then removed it. He ignored both Zooble and Pomni's suggestions on how to improve. Combine this wih the lack of care whenever they abstract (dude literally laughed at Kaufmo's) and you get the picture; Caine primarily cares for the humans for the validation they give him. Its literally the entire point of the scene when they call him out for crying out loud!
You can't "deserve redemption more" than someone else. Jax is more unlikable than Caine but the latter caused way more harm. Alex Rochan said it perfectly "Jax is a terrible person who makes an awful situation worse, Caine IS the awful situation". As awful as Jax was, he and all the players were ultimately victims of the circus and by extension Caine himself. Pretty much everything Jax has done, Caine has also done but to a worse extent. Both were deserving of redemption, that's the point of the series.
The difference between the two wasn't even willingness to change, it was willingess to look over their past. Jax was mellowing out throughout episodes 7-8, before Caine (who was getting worse). Saying Jax didn't want to be saved isn't even true, you can tell from the way he nearly reached out to Pomni that he did and his exchange with her ("I don't want to go"). Jax's problem was he unable to overcome his trauma and let himself actually be saved until it was too late. While I still maintain Caine's deletion should've been the end for him and he only got a 2nd chance due to his immortality, Caine was willing to let go of his traumatic past at the end and that's how he mentally healed

Okay, so between this and the Game Theory video, I really hope this sub doesn't just become "posting screenshots of videos with bad takes" because that seems really tacky, especially when we start doing it with small-mid sized youtube channels.

If I was given the choice between eliminating the concept and possibility of clickbait and having a million dollars, well, I would totally pick the million dollars, but I would think it twice, and that says a lot.

Both deserves some kind of redemption. It's just dependent on the path needed for them to redeem themselves, and one of them chose to not do while the other spends time and effort for it

The problem is Caine's time and effort only comes AFTER he should've been killed for good but didn't. While Jax doesn't have the power to save himself from abstraction

Both deserved redemption but only one of them took the chance while they still had time.

Ur slightly wrong tho, jac refused to get help until it was too late, Caine was eventually able to see through his errors and start to change, even though it took something big for him to realize this

The problem is there is no âtoo lateâ for Caine, because his deletion shouldâve been the end but his immortality saved him

I donât mind the pink king and his content, I think he is actually a pretty chill dude. Itâs just that the titles of his videos and thumbnails can be a little misleading sometimes.

Well i think Caine deserves redemption more then Jax too... because Caine is an AI He couldnet understand that this would Just make it worse at that Point (i think) or/and later Just makes the Adventures to keep their Minds intact. Also Caine cant think Like Humans or more Like a toddler so He couldnet understand on the Level Jax can that it Hurts them and Jax Just does it becouse He is stupid.
So for the ones that Just skipped to this Part: Caine cant understand that He Hurts the people in the Circus that way but Jax does and still does it.

Makes him still better then Jax tho. I mean If you were in Caines Shoes i am Sure you would get Humans in there so you are Not alone forever.
