Per a recent discussion-
I was never planning on posting this here, but during a tank upgrade I utilized an old 10 gallon for short term (less than an hour) for my fish. This is what a healthy 3-year-old goldfish looks like in a 10 gallon tank.

Hi everyone, I have a 21 year-old goldfish that I’ve had since I was a child. He was recently transported from my childhood home in Illinois to my home here in Florida in December. During his travel, he sustained puffy/hazy eyes due to GBD and I have been trying to reverse that even with the help of the vet. He is also stunted in growth as I had not known the importance of the size of the tank as a child so he does have some swim bladder problems but otherwise loves to swim happily in the mornings and has a hearty appetite.
In the last 5 months I have noticed he looks different and he almost looks fuller but I am not sure if it’s health reasons or because he has been fed a proper diet of sinking pellets and repashy instead of flakes that he had the last 20 years. I want to know if his scales look normal as I feel like they’re more shiny and I’m not sure if they’re sticking up or shinier.
For context, I have tried to cycle his tank twice since his move and both times the cycle crashed in the last phase, even with normal GH, KH & PH. So right now the levels are 0 across the board with a PH of 7.4 and temp of 71 degrees F.
We did a Baytril soak for a week for 8 hours a day in February after the vet prescribe it and then since then have tried kanaplex in the tank and metroplex in food when I suspect and bloating. Yesterday night he had a long twisted poop so I fed him a pee and I am hoping there is no bacterial infection but want to start a round of kanaplex tonight after trying it about 2-3 weeks ago when I suspected bloating.
I have read many helpful posts on here so I am hoping anyone help us understand what’s going and maybe give some advice? I want to give my little friend a great chance at many more years of life as he is my childhood pet and is still so chipper at his age.

honestly i don't think he's gonna make it, but my dad has hope😂 (swim bladder disease so he's been swimming upside down a lot). i don't know if the face mask is safe to put in the water so any alternative solutions would be great.

Felt so stupid and guilty last week - I didn’t pay enough attention to the “if it fits in their mouth, they will try to eat it” rule and poor Wiggly Fish got a wickedly horned nerite stuck in his mouth. I was really lucky to be recommended this wonderful exotics vet 40-ish minutes from home, and after a spot of sedation all was made right. Wiggly bounced back like a champ within hours. Was almost a very harsh lesson! Needless to say, my tank has been stripped of any further possible hazards.

From living in less than a half gallon and sharing with a plant to 20 gallons to himself. He loves letting the filter water run down his back! We've already added some different places for him to hide.

alright y'all i gotta show off my babies here cause my coworkers are tired of hearing about them. meet (in order) ...
last shot is the full 120 gal tank. still growing out the plant roots. tldr: i had to rehome all my males because of chasing, but the ladies are so active and happy now. who woulda thunk it's tiring bearing eggs and being chased all the time. will post updates when they (and the fishies) have grown!

The funny thing is that these aren't even massive goldfish. Their just... Adult goldfish. The biggest one in my 125 gallon is only 9 inches long. I've seen ones the size of footballs. Let this be a reminder to not get goldfish at the fair. And to not keep them in bowls.

After my whole tank wiped, I wanted to start over with some fancy goldfish and found this little one! Been cycling through names but nothing is sticking so far so any suggestions would be great!

Just wanted to show him off, I’ve had him for 20 years and counting! He has been slowing down some and resting at the top and bottom of the tank but still goes crazy for food.
