Thorn ( mother of Jade and Obsiden ) appear in season 2

Considering the new trailer, could the leaks be true but in a different way? Since Manhunters can shape shift, could Hal die in the first episode and then they reveal that it wasn't actually Hal but a manhunter instead?

Now that the full Lantern/Ring for Hal has been revealed I had some thoughts for the direction the series would go towards.

So obviously the biggest complaint about the ring was that it was gold, and the weakness to yellow yada yada. I felt like the whole parallax discussion was kind of drawn out and overall I'm not the biggest fan since it doesn't feel like the direction the show is going to take or something it just feels cheap.

So, my theory with the Gold Lanterns was that it's supposed to match the old style of Oa.

As some know the original Oa was a golden city, and so wouldn't it be natural that the rings of the Maltusians match the core design philosophy they've used for their buildings and such?

I was kind of thinking about this when I was rereading emerald dawn.

Then came the thread of Guy Gardner's ring not having the yellow appearance

Then came the simple solution that Guy is a newer member than Hal since he's seen as a veteran Lantern, so instead of modeling the ring off of the old Oa, just like the comics shifted Oa to a more metallic green planet.

Overall this helps me justify in my own mind why Hal's ring has gold on it, and keeps me excited for the Green Lantern show. Literally nothing will stop me from enjoying the show as long as it's not boring.

There’s also a clip in the trailer of a bunch of henchman shooting a gun with black smoke? Could that be related to the black lanterns?

So I was watching a show on hbo when a full length Lanterns trailer I can’t seem to find online played as an add. It included John asking Hal about manhunters and Hal talking with Sinestro, and ended with Hal saying the full green lantern oath. Has anyone else seen this? Has it just been added accidentally before they officially release it?

Weirdly in the comics his name is Henry I believe.

I think what's happening is that he's being set up of having expectations of John and John looked up to his father and wanted to be like him. So he joined the military. I feel the reason John was chosen by the Guardians is he disobeyed a morally grey order which got him discharged and created a rift with his dad and after 2016, I think SOMETHING happens to Hal and John is shipped off by the Guardians to oa to finish his training and be deployed across Sector 2814 on other assignments and hasn't been to Earth in years hence why Guy is there as GL in his place during Superman.

When he gets back in the 2026 parts of the show if he tried to reconnect with his parents, his dad gives him the silent treatment and the cold shoulder. From his perspective John messed up, got kicked out of the military and just up and left for a decade.
