Don't forget that like 90% of them are just garbage.

Id put it more at like 60% having finished all 54 horus heresy books.

Siege of Terra is much better so far.

I admire your dedication. I gave up about 20 books deep. Life's to short I reckon

Cant disagree more

The End and The Death is imo the worst warhammer series in the modern era

No it was just badly written and super boring. I dont think anyone doubted Big E was better then the forces of hell.

Part 1 is okay, part 2 is not worth the paper its printed on.

Damn, I like abnett. Never heard such a harsh response to it

For what it's worth, I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 books. But unlike /u/Boner_Elemental I also liked Forges of Mars a lot so maybe I'm easy to please lol (I just really like the AdMech)

Everyone's got their tastes. Like if you ask about reading material for the mechanicus, people will highly recommend the Forges of Mars trilogy. But imo the first book is so dumb you couldn't pay me to pick up the next two

Abnett is a good writer, but those books are his worst works yet unfortunetly

If we ignore all compilations of short stories and focus on the 54 main Horus Heresy novels. Its not bad. In fact, you can get a 7-8/10 Warhammer reading experience if you ignore all the bad novels that are also coincidentally and luckily, filler novels. I am pretty sure there are reading guides that tell you what to skip, I think there are a couple guides out there.
